摘要: A vehicle-mounted device communication controller includes a vehicle-mounted unit for communicating with ID-registered portable units, a switch-detection mechanism for detecting pressing of an operation knob, a switch-operation restriction mechanism for restricting the rotation of the knob, and a door-opening/closure detection mechanism for detecting opening and closure of a door. Signals are exchanged between the vehicle-mounted unit and each portable unit, and a portable unit having succeeded in exchanging the signals is authenticated and released from the restriction. The vehicle-mounted unit includes a sending/receiving part, a controller, an authentication part, and an ID-storage part. When the door-opening/closure detection mechanism detects opening and then closure of the door, the controller performs the search by an all search method, and only when the latest authenticated ID is stored in the ID-storage part, performs the search by an urgent search method using a simple response signal which does not include an ID.

摘要: The present invention provides a motion vector detection apparatus for performing a hierarchy motion vector detection process, in which an unnecessary second hierarchy motion detection process is cut down and times of error calculation required in the second hierarchy motion detection process are reduced, whereby a motion vector is detected at a high speed and with high precision. This motion vector detection apparatus comprises a comparison decision unit u5a for referring to a motion compensation error corresponding to a detected motion vector of a neighboring block, thereby deciding a case where the coding efficiency is not improved even when the second hierarchy motion detection is performed.

摘要: An image signal expressing pel values and a significance signal, declaring for each pel whether the pel value is significant, are supplied as input signals. By referring to the input significance signal values for the pels proximal to the pel being processed, the significant pels are identified and a resolution conversion characteristics selector selects one of two or more frequency conversion characteristics to be used for resolution conversion of the image signal using only significant pels. A resolution converter then converts the resolution of the input image signal using the selected resolution conversion characteristic, and outputs the result as the image conversion apparatus output signal. Resolution conversion of the input image signal can therefore be accomplished by means of pel subsampling or interpolation without being affected by nonsignificant pels, and resolution conversion with minimal image quality loss caused by the conversion process is achieved.

摘要: A method of padding an image signal comprising dividing an image signal of an object into plural regions; processing the plural regions in a prescribed processing order; padding an insignificant region with a padding value obtained by a prescribed method; which region abuts a boundary region including a boundary of the object, and is composed of insignificant pixels; and generating additional information with reference to significant signals showing whether significant pixels are included, for each of the plural regions, by a prescribed method, which additional information is referred to when the pixel values of pixels in the plural regions are padded. Both the boundary region and the insignificant region adjacent to the boundary region are padded, and region by region padding is performed using the additional information. Therefore, when the image is encoded or decoded, a prediction signal with less difference can be obtained even for an image of great motion, whereby the delay time and the arithmetic amount in the coding and decoding processes are significantly reduced.
