An automatic flaw removing method for long materials, comprises the steps of: inspecting long materials, such as round-bar steels and steel pipes, for surface flaws by a flaw inspecting apparatus of all section to divide the long materials into rejected materials having a flaw(s) and accepted materials having no flaw; storing information on the longitudinal position and length of each of the flaws of the rejected materials in a storage unit; sequentially carrying out the tracking of each of the rejected materials; moving a circumferential flaw probe directly connected to a grinder, to a longitudinal coordinate position of each of the flaws of the rejected materials, on the basis of the information on the longitudinal position of each of the flaws stored in the storage unit, when each of the rejected materials arrives at a flaw grinding position; rotating each of the rejected materials; identifying a circumferential position of each of the flaws by picking up a flaw indicative signal by the circumferential flaw probe; and automatically grinding each of the rejected materials, on the basis of the information on the identified circumferential position of each of the flaws and the information on the longitudinal position and length of each of the flaws stored in the storage unit. Thus, it is possible to interlock a high-speed automatic flaw inspecting apparatus with an automatic grinder to automatically remove surface flaws of long materials.

There are provided novel 4(2-furoyl)aminopiperidines represented by the general formula (I), their synthetic intermediates, processes for their preparation and medicaments containing them. In the above formula, X is OH or N, and Y is a group of the following general formula (II), formula (II-a) or formula (III): wherein a, b and c are each an integer of 0-6; Z is CH2 or NH; W is O or S; T is O or N—R15 wherein R15 is H, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a benzyl group or a phenethyl group; and R1 is H, a C1-C6 alkoxycarbonyl group, a benzyloxy-carbonyl group, or the like. In particular, a method of measuring the formaldehyde concentration characterized in that a test gas is brought into contact with a filter wetted with a color forming agent consisting of an alkali aqueous solution of 4-amino-3-hydrazino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole (AHMT) so as to induce color formation, and that the formaldehyde concentration of test gas is determined on the basis of the degree of color formation; and a measuring instrument including a light emitting element (LED) , a light receiving element (PIN type photodiode) and a display arranged so as to optically measure the degree of color formation.

A refrigerant circuit includes a compressor and an expansion valve. The expansion valve is connected to a discharge muffler of the compressor by a high pressure conduit. The expansion valve is also connected to a suction passage of the compressor by a low pressure conduit. The high pressure conduit includes a condenser and the low pressure conduit includes an evaporator. A check valve is located between the discharge muffler and the high pressure conduit to selectively connect and disconnect the high pressure conduit with the discharge muffler. A relief valve is attached to the discharge muffler upstream of the check valve. If the pressure in the compressor is abnormally high when the check valve closes, the relief valve releases the abnormally high pressure from the discharge muffler. Therefore, if the check valve fails to function, the relief valve prevents the pressure in the compressor from being abnormally high.

An electromagnetic ultrasonic wave generated by the transmitting coils are received by the receiving coils, amplified by the differential amplifier, and thereafter supplied to a synchroscope and an automatic detector.
