摘要： The present invention involves a sampler designed to collect drill cuttings which are produced during drilling of a blast hole in open-pit mining operations. The present invention is designed to capture a theoretically accurate sample which will be assayed for the gold and silver it contains (and may be appropriate for other minerals as well). The present invention obtains a larger, more representative sample and has the ability to split the sample automatically to a reasonable lab delivery weight. The design of the invention provides for sampling through the drill deck of drill machines which are commonly used in open-pit mining operations. The design of the invention allows for sampling over the entire particle trajectory and is unaffected by changes in drilling equipment. The sampler comprises a pan which is tapered and receives drill cuttings produced from drilling a blast hole. The sampler may also comprise a rear arm which is pivotally connected near the back wall of the pan, and a front arm which is pivotally connected to the pan at a location farther from the back wall of the pan relative to the rear arm.

摘要： Improved insulative cable assemblies and methods for producing them are disclosed. The insulative cable assemblies have a conductor housed within a polymeric insulation layer expanded with expandable thermoplastic microspheres. The use of a relatively inelastic outside sheath controls the expansion of the insulative layer and assures a snug fit between the insulation and the conductor. The insulation layer is highly resilient and resistant to dielectric changes due to compression or damage from mechanical manipulation of the cable. Additionally, the ability to expand the insulative layer after cable assembly is completed provides far greater freedom in cable processing without compromising low dielectric constant.

摘要： Single pellets of a thermoplastic resin containing long glass fibers and a conductive filler are set forth that enable molded articles made from these pellets to exhibit conductivity and, at the same time, high mechanical properties. These pellets have mechanical properties that are substantially equivalent to non-conductive pellets of a thermoplastic resin containing same loading of long glass and provide conductivity that is substantially equivalent to articles obtained by blending two kinds of pellets, one pellet having a conductive filler and the other pellet one containing long glass fibers. The pellets include a thermoplastic resin, a long fiber reinforcing filler and a conductive additive dispersed in the pellet.

摘要： An active fluid bearing system is provided. In one example, the active fluid bearing system includes an interface region formed between an outer surface of an inner member and an opposing inner surface of an outer member. The inner and outer members are disposed for relative rotation of the inner and outer members, and thereby form an interface region having a hydrodynamic bearing region and an active bearing region. A liquid is disposed in the interface region at the hydrodynamic bearing region, and is further disposed in the active bearing region if the inner and outer members are not relatively rotating. The bearing system is operable for evacuating at least a portion of the liquid from the active bearing region during relative rotation of the inner and outer members. The active bearing region may be a journal bearing or a thrust bearing.
