摘要: A driver (106) for driving pixels (104) of a display (102), wherein the pixels are divided into a first group and a second group and the driver is constructed for supplying a first drive signal to a first pixel and a second drive signal to a second pixel, the first and second pixels being neighboring pixels. The driver (106) comprises means for generating a first upper value and a first lower value; and means for generating a second upper value and a second lower value. It comprises means for driving, in a first operating mode, the first pixel with the first lower value and driving the second pixel with the second upper value. In a second operating mode, driving the first pixel with the first upper value and driving the second pixel with the second lower value. Means (108) for controlling the operating mode alternates between the first operating mode and the second operating mode.

摘要: A display device and a method for driving the display device is disclosed. The display device comprises drive circuitry (35) and a plurality of pixels (PIX1, PIX2, PIX3, PIX4, PIX5, PIX6) having movable charged particles (116). The drive circuitry is configured to apply control signals to the pixels to move the charged particles between first (110) and second (112) regions of each pixel in order to alter the optical appearance of each pixel. The method for each pixel comprises a pre-addressing stage (PRA) of moving the charged particles towards the boundary (114) between the first and second regions, and then an addressing stage (ADD) of moving the particles to one side or the other side of the boundary, in dependence on the desired optical appearance of the pixel.

摘要: A method and a control system (20) are provided for determining a relation between stimulation settings for a brain stimulation probe (10) and a corresponding V-field. The brain stimulation probe (10) comprises multiple stimulation electrodes (11). The V-field is an electrical field in brain tissue surrounding the stimulation electrodes (11). The method comprises sequentially applying a test current to n stimulation electrodes (11), n being a number between 2 and the number of stimulation electrodes (11) of the brain stimulation probe (10), for each test current at one of the n stimulation electrodes (11), measuring a resulting excitation voltage at m stimulation electrodes, m being a number between 2 and the number of stimulation electrodes (11) of the brain stimulation probe (10), from the stimulation settings and the measured excitation voltages, deriving an (m*{acute over (η)}) coupling matrix, an element (q, p) in the coupling matrix reflecting an amount of electrical impedance between two of the stimulation electrodes (11), and using the coupling matrix for determining the relation between the stimulation settings and the corresponding V-field.

摘要: A backlight control system is configured to control a backlight of a display that includes light sources positioned at light source positions for providing illumination to the backside of the display panel. The system includes a drive value generator configured to provide light source drive values for causing the backlight profile to gradually descend around a high luminance portion of the display at a rate that is independent of a position of the high luminance portion with respect to the light source positions. The high luminance portion of the display has a higher luminance than an area around the high luminance portion of the display.

摘要: The invention relates to an electronic apparatus (I) with a DC power source (B) and power-consuming electronic circuits (EC) and to a method of transferring power between these components. The DC voltage of the power source (B) is converted into an AC voltage which is then transferred via a connector (C) to the electronic circuits (EC). Negative effects due to a contamination of the connector (C) with moisture from the environment can hence be minimized The invention is particularly suited for implantable devices as it allows to couple a replaceable battery (B) with electronic circuits (EC) via a non-sealed connector (C).

摘要: A method and apparatus for increasing the brightness of a color-sequential matrix display, in which the matrix display is addressed on a line-by-line basis, includes dividing a frame period of said matrix display into sub-fields corresponding to the number of light colors being used to sequentially illuminate said matrix display illuminating the display sequentially with said light colors, each for the duration of the corresponding sub-field, and pre-processing the video signal to compensate for errors due to illuminating the display during the addressing time and LC response time. The pre-processing includes determining a direction and an amount of gray scale level change from a preceding sub-field to a current sub-field, and increasing or decreasing the video signal in the current sub-field in dependence on the determined direction of the gray scale level change from the preceding sub-field and by an amount corresponding to a predetermined factor of said determined amount of gray scale level change.
