Abstract:
Prosthetic intervertebral discs and methods for using the same are described. The subject prosthetic discs include upper and lower endplates separated by a compressible core member. The prosthetic discs described herein include one-piece, two-piece, three-piece, and four-piece structures. The subject prosthetic discs exhibit stiffness in the vertical direction, torsional stiffness, bending stiffness in the saggital plane, and bending stiffness in the front plane, where the degree of these features can be controlled independently by adjusting the components of the discs. The interface mechanism between the endplates and the core members of several embodiments of the described prosthetic discs enables a very easy surgical operation for implantation.
Abstract:
A washing machine and a method are provided for changing system data which allow a user to identify problems with the product itself, installation, problems due to regional characteristics, changes in use, and the like, and to change system operation data accordingly. A user may change/replace a pre-stored wash program to address specific problems encountered based on user preferences and wash history. An interface section for sending/receiving wash-related data to/from an external device, and a memory for enabling data read/write and for storing data received from the external device are provided to allow for transmission of wash history and receipt and downloading of additional wash programs. Thus convenience, washing performance, and operational efficiency can be maximized, while problem diagnosis and repair performed by the user or service man can be facilitated.
Abstract:
There is provided a reliable method for sensing a laundry amount and a method for controlling a washing machine, in which a method for sensing a laundry amount is performed appropriately according to the laundry amount. According to the method of the present invention, the reliability in the sensed laundry amount is improved.
Abstract:
A multiple laundry machine, in which an auxiliary drying device is coupled to a general laundry machine, is disclosed. The multiple laundry machine includes a laundry machine for washing or drying laundry contained in an interior of the laundry machine, an auxiliary drying device arranged at one side of the laundry machine, the auxiliary drying device having a laundry container formed in an interior of the auxiliary drying device, and a driver provided at the auxiliary drying device, to drive the auxiliary drying device.

Abstract:
A washing machine is provided that performs washing using a new washing course employed in the latest washing machine without any change in the mechanical components of the washing machine, by providing a means to update operational data related to the operation of the washing machine. The washing machine may include a controller that controls the washing machine using electric signals, and an internal storage device that stores operational data of the controller. An external device that stores upload operational data, which is distinguished from the operational data may be electrically connected to the controller so that a function of the operational data may be replaced with the upload operational data.
Abstract:
A controlling method of a dishwasher is provided. The method includes a selecting of a wash cycle and inputting of command settings by a user, starting operation of the dishwasher according to the selected cycle and driving a wash pump and discharge member, and controlling the dishwasher during the cycle to end the wash cycle with an upper arm operating.
Abstract:
A water leakage detecting device for effectively detecting water leakage and sensing malfunctions in the device is disclosed. The device includes a base retaining water leaked from a tub, a detector detecting whether leaked water is retained in the base, a first signal generator outputting a signal, when the detector detects the leaked water, a second signal generator outputting a signal, when the detector does not detect the leaked water, and a controller deciding whether to drain the leaked water and determining whether the water leakage detecting device has a malfunction.
Abstract:
A washing machine and a method of changing system data therein that can grasp causes such as trouble of the product itself, problems on installation, problems on the regional characteristics, living pattern change of a user, etc., and change/replace a pre-stored program to/by a wash-related program that can solve the problems. The washing machine includes an outer tank, an inner tank, a load section, a microcomputer for controlling drive of the load section and reading an operation state of the load section, a key input section, a display section, an interface section for sending/receiving wash-related data to/from an external device, and a memory for enabling data read/write and storing the program or data received from the external device. If a data-change command is externally or internally produced, the wash-related program is changed through processes of data movement/copy/deletion for each sector in the memory by executing a program for data communication, and thus the convenience in use, washing performance, and operational efficiency can be maximized. Also, the trouble diagnosis and repair performed by the user or service man can be facilitated through the display of the changed program version.
