Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for multimedia broadcast single frequency network measurements. A method is provided for receiving a multimedia broadcast single frequency network measurement request (32); and measuring, at a user equipment, multimedia broadcast single frequency network parameters, wherein the multimedia broadcast single multimedia broadcast single frequency network measurement is independent of the user equipment radio resource control state (34).
Abstract:
In some example embodiments, there is provided a method. The method may include determining whether a communication terminal is within range of a wireless gateway to enable connection establishment between the wireless gateway and the communication terminal; and establishing at least one connection between the wireless gateway and the communication terminal, when the communication terminal is determined to be within range. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also described.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided herein to enable a current release timer value to be transferred to a target access point (e.g. target cell) in an instance in which a mobile terminal is performing a handover or has recently attached to a target access point. In some example embodiments, a method is provided that comprises determining that a handover condition exists for a mobile terminal. The method of this embodiment may also include determining a release timer value for the mobile terminal. The method of this embodiment may also include causing the release timer value to be transmitted to a target access point. In some example embodiments, the release timer value is configured to trigger a release timer in the target access point.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and software related product (e.g., a computer readable memory) for efficient measurement reporting by UEs to provide, for example, lower UE power consumption, efficient use of network resources, small cell ottloading, etc., in wireless networks such as LTE/LTE-A systems that can be also applied in inter-system cases such as a mix of UTRAN and E-UTRAN as one non-limiting example is presented. The UE performs measurements and event evaluation as in conventional LTE/LTE-A systems, but for certain cells/carriers an event triggered measurement report, which conventionally would be transmitted when time-to-trigger (TTT) expires (see details e.g. in 3GPP TS 36.331), is not transmitted but regarded as buffered (e.g., in a memory or buffered memory of the UE) as a candidate measurement report, when a predefined criterion is not met. This predefined criterion is e.g. a need at the UE to request network resources for uplink transmission by the UE. Thus, a UE being in connected mode but not actively transmitting data, will not report measurements resulting in likely handovers.

Abstract:
A distributed unit, DU, of a radio access node configured to operate in a scenario where the DU is one of multiple DUs serving links to a multi-connected entity, acquires a first DU radio resource configuration for the DU, acquires a first link radio resource configuration corresponding to a first link of a multi-connectivity link of a multi-connected entity, wherein the first link is served by the DU, acquires a multiplexing configuration of the multi-connectivity link, and determines availability of at least one radio resource for the multi-connectivity link based on the first DU radio resource configuration, the first link radio resource configuration, and the multiplexing configuration.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for MBSFN measurements. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, by a user equipment, an indication of a monitoring requirement (202, 204) for at least one of an idle mode of operation at the user equipment or a connected mode of operation at the user equipment; receiving, by the user equipment, information (206) for one or more transmissions (MBMS) that are multicast or broadcast; and measuring, by the user equipment, the one or more transmissions (MBMS) that are multicast or broadcast, the measuring performed in accordance with the received information (206) and without regard to the indication of the monitoring requirement (202, 204) for at least one of the idle mode of operation or the connected mode of operation. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from optimizations, such as signaling optimizations. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from paging enhancement for signaling optimization. A method can include identifying, by a network element, a procedure to be used by a user equipment as a response to a paging message. The method can also include indicating the procedure from the network element to the user equipment.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques for minimize drive testing measurements. Network elements including UEs and eNBs are configured to define measurement procedures to determine control plane latency affecting scheduling requests, RACH procedures, and combinations thereof. Upon initiation of a request for uplink resources, such as a scheduling request or a RACH procedure, a UE notes the time of the request and measures the time until its fulfillment. If a scheduling request fails, a RACH procedure may be performed and in such cases, the time from initiation of the scheduling request, through its failure, until successful completion of the RACH procedure may be measured. Once a measurement has been made, the measured duration and other associated information are assembled and analyzed, and when the measurement and other information meets criteria for inclusion in a measurement report, the report is assembled and sent, or logged for sending, to an eNB.
