摘要: A method, system and server for generating a content editing command file devoid of content. The method includes editing by at least one user of the same content so that each generates an individual content editing command file 102, transmitting the files to a server, and compiling the files to form at least one aggregated editing command file 104. Furthermore, the method includes distributing a content editing command file and/or an aggregated content editing command file devoid of content to at least one recipient 106. Separately, the content is distributed 108. The received content editing command file and content 110 are processed to generate edited-content 112.

摘要: A WLAN access point (111) is synchronized with a Wide Area Network (WAN) (105) via either a backhaul connection (115), or via hardware of the WLAN access point (111) suitable for receiving and decoding a synchronization timing signal from the WAN (105). The WLAN access point (111) may then transmit a beacon signal during a defined time window. The mobile station (101) is aware of the time window and only powers its WLAN transceiver equipment on during the appropriate window. Because the WLAN access point (111) is synchronized to the WAN (105), the mobile station (101) is able to anticipate the appropriate time window for power up. When the mobile station detects the WLAN access point (111) beacon, it notifies the WAN (105), via a WAN base transceiver station (BTS) (107) and proceeds to hand over idle mode signaling from the serving BTS (107) to the WLAN access point (111)

摘要: A display circuit for use in a hand held device is provided, which virtually expands the image displayed. The display circuit includes a display, a memory, a motion sensor, and a controller. The display has a predetermined size, and the memory has stored therein an image, which has an image size, that is larger than the size of the display. The motion sensor detects the movement of the hand held device and the corresponding movement of the display. The controller, which is coupled to the motion sensor, via prestored instructions, determines the current position of the hand held device and displays a portion of the image on the display, corresponding to the present position of the device. As the hand held device moves, the image being displayed on the display is panned an amount, which matches the movement of the hand held device.

摘要: A method of authenticating an electronic device (100) utilizes device specific identifying data stored within the electronic device (100), and for example, information stored in or computed by a subscriber identity module (SIM) card (212) of the electronic device (100). A plurality of challenge and response pairs based upon the device specific identifying data are generated and stored in a database (110). When the electronic device (100) is to be authenticated, a challenge and response pair is selected and the challenge is communicated to the electronic device (100). The electronic device (100) responds with a response, the received response is compared to a response portion of the challenge response pair. A match confirms authentication.

摘要: A method in a wireless communication device for tracking the location of the device using cookie files (104). The location of the device (102) is determined by the device (100) itself or the infrastructure (114) in communication with the device. The location cookie files are created by or transmitted to the device by the communication system and can be interrogated or queried immediately by the device, the infrastructure, or stored for later use by both. When a location cookie, or a cookie associated with a location has been stored on the device, it can be queried to determine when the device has moved to or close to the same location as stored in the location cookie. The location in the cookie can also be used to guide the device to a certain location of the location cookie. The location cookie can also be used to track the number of time the device enters a certain location.

摘要: A locking function or device (136) for a wireless communication unit (102) and corresponding method locks the communication device (102) to a network of a selected service provider such that the communication device (102) is limited to a lower functionality level if used with another service provider. The locking function (136) unlocks or permits the communication device (102) to be unlocked such that the communication device (102) is not limited to the lower functionality level when used with a network other than the selected network when an accrued measure of usage of the communication device (102) reaches a predetermined level. The accrued measure of usage corresponds for example to accrued revenue generated by the communication device (102).

摘要: A spread-spectrum noise canceller (390) is provided for cancelling user code noise from a spread-spectrum communication channel. The spread-spectrum noise canceller (390) includes a receiver for receiving a spread-spectrum signal (302) including a first and at least a second signal as well as a noise canceller (390) operatively coupled to the receiver for reducing spread-spectrum noise in the first received signal by substantially processing the at least second received signal out of the received spread-spectrum signal (302).In addition, a method is provided which cancels user code noise from a spread-spectrum communication channel. The method includes receiving a spread-spectrum signal (302) including a first and at least a second signal and subsequently reducing spread-spectrum noise in the first received signal by substantially processing the at least second received signal out of the received spread-spectrum signal (302).

摘要: A wireless mobile terminal (10) and method for utilizing digital broadcast content records (204) selected digital broadcast content as received, for example, by a digital broadcast receiver (16) and provides editing of the selected digital broadcast content based on digital rights management data to generate customized clips of information. The selected digital broadcast content is edited (206) to produce mobile terminal edited digital broadcast content that may be, for example, distributed (208) by the mobile terminal to a plurality of peer devices. A broadcast content editor (24) allows for the editing of clips of content wherein the edited clips are then stored in memory as recorded clips for distribution by the mobile terminal. In another embodiment, a network element is remotely controlled by the mobile terminal to effect editing through the mobile terminal at the network element.
