Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE which uses a first antenna and a second antenna for communication with a first RAT. The apparatus determines that the second antenna is to be used for a procedure associated with a second RAT at a first time. The apparatus reduces a UE RI from an initial value to a reduced value for the communication with the first RAT at the first time based on the determination.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may be communicating on a radio frequency spectrum band of a first radio access technology (RAT) using a set of antennas. The UE may reconfigure at least one antenna of the set of antennas to perform a first scan on the radio frequency spectrum band of a second RAT. The UE may determine, based on the first scan, whether to reconfigure a remaining portion of the antennas of the set of antennas to perform a second scan on the radio frequency spectrum band of the second RAT.
Abstract:
A method, device and system provide improved throughput for network subscriptions in multi-SIM, multi-standby wireless devices by triggering false or fake NAK/Tx messages prior to the tune-away. The technique includes receiving and decoding communications from a node at a user equipment during a first subscription communication mode; in response to a communication from the node to the user equipment after a certain time period prior to a tune away period in which the user equipment communicates in a second subscription communication mode, communicating a fake NACK message from the user equipment to the node; and after the tune away period ends, receiving communications at the user equipment from the node and responding with an ACK message.
Abstract:
Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media for mitigating the risk of delayed connection or call failure during base station handover by preventing single radio long term evolution (SRLTE) communication devices from dropping Mobile Termination (MT) paging messages due to paging channel mismatches (e.g., mismatches between the Walsh codes used for different paging channels).
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and media are provided for improved receiver control based on error detection results in multiple, simultaneous radio access technology environments. Communication may be performed using a first radio access technology on a first receiver. A first communication for a second radio access technology may be received on a second receiver. A determination may be made as to whether to receive a second communication for the second radio access technology on the first receiver based on an error detection result for the first communication.
Abstract:
A method includes: identifying a pilot received on a subscription utilizing a radio frequency (RF) chain of a mobile communication device having one or more parameters that correspond to at least a portion of cached overhead information for a base station (BS) previously acquired on the subscription; validating the cached overhead information that corresponds at least in part to the one or more parameters of the pilot; transitioning the subscription utilizing the RF chain to a sleep state; and releasing the RF chain from the subscription.
Abstract:
Methods and devices are disclosed for managing diversity tune-away on a wireless communication device configured with at least two radio frequency (RF) receive resources associated with a connection in a high speed data network. The wireless device may monitor data communications and downlink channel conditions in the high speed data network, and determine whether a diversity tune-away mode has been entered. Upon determining that the diversity tune-away mode has been entered, the wireless device may perform a deliberate acknowledgment procedure by ignoring normal error detection for received data and sending an acknowledgment message for the received data to the high speed data network. The wireless device may determine whether the diversity tune-away mode has ended, and in response to determining that the diversity tune-away mode has ended, and halt the deliberate acknowledgment procedure in response to determining that the diversity tune-away mode has ended.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for implementing dynamic receive mode management to improve data throughput and paging performance on a multi-subscriber identification module (SIM) wireless communication device may include detecting, on a protocol stack associated with a first SIM, an active communication in a first network, detecting, on a protocol stack associated with a second SIM, an idle mode paging cycle in a second network, prompting entry into a selected dual receive mode on the shared RF resource, and monitoring at least one performance metric for the idle mode paging cycle associated with the second SIM while in the dual receive mode. Based on the monitored performance metric while in the dual receive mode, the wireless communication device may determine whether paging performance is degraded for the second SIM, and if so, trigger entry into a fallback mode on the shared RF resource.
