Abstract:
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for determining a position indicator are presented. In some embodiments, position data indicating a position of a mobile device is obtained. A position indicator is determined based on at least one region of a map. The position of the mobile device is located within the at least one region. The position indicator indicates a map-feature-dependent region of the map. The position indicator is provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods, devices, systems, apparatus, servers, computer-/processor-readable media, and other implementations, including a method, performed at a processor-based device, that includes obtaining antenna information for one or more wireless nodes, and generating based, at least in part, on the antenna information for the one or more wireless nodes, a heatmap representative of values measurable at a plurality of locations from signals transmitted by the one or more wireless nodes.
Abstract:
Techniques for determining brand information and refining a position of a mobile device are described herein. An example of a method for displaying branding information on a mobile device includes receiving a reference image feature data table based on a rough location of the mobile device, such that the reference image feature data table includes a collection of entity records and wherein each entity record includes a plurality of logo image feature fields, obtaining an image including a displayed logo, utilizing an image recognition process and the reference image feature data table on the image to determine a recognized logo, and displaying brand information based on the recognized logo.
Abstract:
Method, mobile device, computer program product, and apparatus for performing Fine Grain Position Data Collection are described. In one embodiment, a server can receive position data collected by a mobile device with a first positioning configuration. In one embodiment, the server can determine, from the position data received at the server, a mobile device position and create a second positioning configuration according to at least the mobile device position. In one embodiment, the server can send the second positioning configuration to the mobile device. In one embodiment, a mobile device can collect position data according to a first positioning configuration and send the position data to a server. In one embodiment, the mobile device can receive a second positioning configuration from the server created according to at least the mobile device position.
Abstract:
Disclosed are apparatuses and methods for enabling the use of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals indoors. The method may include determining a first indoor position of the mobile device based on indoor transceiver signals. The method may also include determining, based at least in part on the determined first indoor position, that global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning signals are available. The method may also include determining a second indoor position of the mobile device based, at least in part, on GNSS positioning signals.
Abstract:
Various methods, apparatuses and/or articles of manufacture are provided for use in one or more electronic devices to perform and/or otherwise support certain positioning capabilities with regard to a mobile device. For example, certain positioning capabilities may make use of one or more portal transition parameters that may be based, at least in part, on a determined likelihood that a mobile device, if located in a first region of a specific environment and within a threshold area of a portal connecting the first region to a second region of the specific environment, may or may not make use of the portal to transition from the first region to the second region, e.g., through the portal.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing information associated with a location history of a mobile device to one or more applications are disclosed. A mobile device generates one or more location history records based on one or more locations of the mobile device, each location history record comprising one or more points of interest and a duration at the one or more points of interest, receives an information request from at least one application, determines a subset of the one or more location history records that meet criteria from the information request, determines a level of permission for the at least one application based on the information request and the subset of the one or more location history records, and provides information associated with the subset of the one or more location history records to the at least one application based on the level of permission.

Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer-readable media for integrating sensation functionalities into a mobile device using a haptic sleeve are presented. According to one or more aspects of the disclosure, a computing device may receive, via a haptic sleeve, sensation input captured by one or more haptic components of the haptic sleeve. Subsequently, the computing device may store haptic data corresponding to the received sensation input. For example, in storing such haptic data, the computing device may store information describing one or more electrical signals received via the one or more haptic components of the haptic sleeve during a period of time corresponding to a particular event, and this stored information may reflect various characteristics of the sensation input received by the computing device in connection with the particular event, such as the magnitude(s), position(s), duration, and/or type(s) of sensation(s) captured during the period of time.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for processing positioning data are provided. In an example, a method for processing positioning data associated with one or more access points includes choosing, for inclusion in the positioning data, one or both of: (1) ranging model parameters to enable a mobile device to compute first heatmap data for multiple points in a ranging region of a heatmap, or (2) second heatmap data for a plurality of points in a non-ranging region of the heatmap. The method can also include transmitting the positioning data, such as to a mobile device. The positioning data can also include both the ranging model parameters and the second heatmap data when the ranging region and the non-ranging region fully or partially overlap, in which case the second heatmap data provides correction data to enable the mobile device to modify the computed heatmap data in the area where the two regions overlap.
