    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability message indicating support for multiple configured grant small data transmission (CG-SDT) configurations and may receive one or more downlink messages that collectively indicate a downlink bandwidth part (BWP), an uplink BWP and a set of CG-SDT configurations based on transmitting the capability message. Each CG-SDT configuration may be associated with respective time and frequency resources for use in one or more CG-SDTs. The UE may transition out of a radio resource control (RRC) connected state based on receiving the one or more downlink messages. The UE may transmit an initial CG-SDT that includes a common control channel (CCCH) message using time and frequency resources associated with one or more of the set of CG-SDT configurations based on comparing the respective time and frequency resources associated with the each of the CG-SDT configurations.

    Abstract: A method of wireless communication may include determining a gap configuration for a mobile device, wherein the gap configuration defines a desired gap between a scheduled downlink transmission for reception by a mobile device and an uplink transmission from the mobile device; determining whether a gap between a scheduled downlink transmission for reception by a mobile device and an uplink transmission from the mobile device is less than a defined number of symbols for the desired gap; and/or puncturing at least one of the downlink transmission and the uplink transmission when the gap is determined to be less than the defined number of symbols. The puncturing may be performed on the downlink transmission and/or the uplink transmission when the scheduled gap is less than a desired gap, and optionally the puncturing is performing without puncturing a CSI-RS, a DMRS, or a PTRS. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A UE may transmit a random-access message to a base station and receive at least a control channel portion of a response to the random-access message from the base station, where the response may also include a data channel portion. Using the techniques described herein, the UE may then manage flow control feedback reporting to the base station based on whether the data channel portion includes a radio resource control (RRC) message. For instance, the UE may report an acknowledgment for the response if the data channel portion does not include an RRC message and a TA timer at the UE is running (e.g., regardless of whether the UE is able to or attempts to decode the data channel portion, since the data channel portion may only include TA information which may not be useful to the UE).

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication over a shared spectrum carrier utilizing a broadcast, common control channel. The broadcast control channel may be multiplexed with a unicast control channel. Further, a scheduling entity may allocate a semi-static set of resources for the broadcast control channel, providing a shared search space on the shared spectrum carrier. The resource allocation for the shared search space may be based on one or more parameters, which may be cell-specific parameters. This shared search space may include resources distributed across the shared spectrum carrier, or a contiguous set of resources that spans only a portion of the carrier. The broadcast control channel may be configured for high reliability, and may carry time-critical control information relating to access control for the shared spectrum carrier. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for a reduced capability (RedCap) user equipment (UE) and supporting cell. The RedCap UE is configured with multiple bandwidth parts (BWPs). A maximum bandwidth of the RedCap UE is lower than a maximum bandwidth of a non-RedCap UEs. The UE receives a cell-defining synchronization signal block (CD-SSB) that defines a shared initial downlink BWP for RedCap UEs and non-RedCap UEs. The UE switches to a separate initial downlink BWP for RedCap UEs. The UE accesses the cell via the separate initial downlink BWP. The UE receives a configuration of an active downlink BWP for RedCap UEs. The UE determines whether to switch from the active downlink BWP to the shared initial BWP or the separate initial downlink BWP to obtain information such as updated system information, system measurements, and uplink configuration information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently signaling configurations of physical resources and transmission parameters to a user equipment (UE) for small data transmissions (for example, data transmissions in an inactive or idle state). A base station may broadcast or multicast downlink control information (DCI) in one or more control channels that schedules data transmissions in a set of data channels. The base station may then multicast one or more configurations in each of the data channels, and a UE may decode one of the data channels to determine a configuration for a small data transmission. Because the configurations may be transmitted in the data channels in addition to system information or paging information, a base station may have access to sufficient resources to provide suitable configurations to a UE for communications in an inactive or idle state.
