摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed for processing session initiation protocol (SIP) messages associated with a Voice over IP (VoIP) terminal. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network proxy having a controller that manages a communications interface in a communication system. The controller can be programmed to receive from a VoIP terminal a SIP message comprising a request to communicate with a destination point, detect from the SIP message a lack of location information associated with the VoIP terminal, and transmit a location query to one among the VoIP terminal, and a gateway connecting the VoIP terminal to the network proxy. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: A method of communication includes receiving a request to initiate a push-to-talk/instant messaging exchange from a push-to-talk device. A determination is made in order to ascertain if an instant messaging device is available to partake in the push-to-talk/instant messaging exchange. If the instant messaging device is available, the push-to-talk device is notified that the push-to-talk/instant messaging exchange has begun. Voice packets are received from the push-to-talk device after a push to talk button is pressed and released. The voice packets from the push-to-talk device are converted to text packets. Then, the converted text packets are transmitted to the instant messaging device. The method further includes determining whether the push-to-talk device is blocked by the instant messaging device. If the push-to-talk device is not blocked, text packets are received from the instant messaging device and converted to voice packets. Further, the converted voice packets are transmitted to the push-to-talk device.

摘要: A method and apparatus for enabling content sharing among endpoint devices over a network. For example, the method creates a new content or an updated content, and stores the new content or the updated content in at least one memory location of a mobile endpoint device accessible by one or more groups. The method sends a notification of the storing of the new content or the updated content to at least one member of the one or more groups.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method to deliver video data. The method can include selectively transmitting a low data rate video stream to at least one display device. The method can also include generating a mirror video stream that is derived from the low data rate video stream, where the mirror video stream has a data rate compatible with at least one wireless network. The method can also include selectively transmitting the mirror video stream to at least one wireless device via the at least one wireless network.

摘要: A central host performs an automated method of updating multiple remote devices. In one embodiment, the host recognizes a predetermined download time and, in advance of the download time, transmits a calendar update to multiple remote devices. The calendar update includes the download time, and the remote devices may utilize the download time to set calendar reminders for entering an active state. Within a short time after reaching the download time, the host pushes download data to the remote devices by broadcasting the download data. In one aspect, the host may receive message acknowledgements from remote devices in response to a first calendar update, and the host may automatically transmit additional calendar updates to any remote devices that did not receive the first calendar update. Additional embodiments involve related methods and the terminal devices that receive the updates.
