    摘要: A drug delivery system comprising pH triggerable particles is described. The pH triggerable particles comprise and agent(s) to be delivered, which is encapsulated in a matrix comprising a pH trigger agent and a polymer. Agents including nucleic acids may be delivered intracellularly using the inventive pH triggerable particles. Upon exposure to an acidic environment such as the endosome or phagosome of a cell, the particles dissolve or disrupt due to protonation or an increase in solubility of the pH triggering agent. Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of preparing and administering these particles are also described. These particles may be particularly useful in genetic vaccination.

    摘要: A mechanism for powering a combine header unit at infinitely variable speeds. A primary motor is coupled to a primary input shaft via a clutch, a variable-speed secondary motor is directly coupled to a secondary input shaft, and the header unit coupled to a header output shaft. A planetary gear-train couples the primary input shaft, the secondary input shaft, and the header output shaft to each other. A primary brake is coupled to the primary input shaft, and a secondary brake coupled to the secondary input shaft. A control circuit is employed to command the operation of the clutch, the secondary motor, the primary brake, and the secondary brake in response to operator commands.

    摘要: In order to provide a golf ball with a water immersion indicator, a golf ball with indicia or a particular recognizable color is overlain with an opacification layer that provides a mask over the indicia or the colored ball until such time as the ball has been immersed in water for a predetermined period of time affecting the ball's performance. The opacification layer when removed or otherwise made transparent, while providing for a change in the appearance of the golf ball upon water immersion, does not need to have a layer or indicia which changes color in reaction to the infusion of water. Rather the opacification layer is either removed or made transparent to expose an underlying colored surface or a surface bearing pre-determined indicia, thus to alter the appearance of the ball when it has been immersed in water for a period of time which affects golf ball properties. The subject system provides an easy way to make indicia visible upon water immersion since one does not have to create the indicia in response to water activation, but rather uncover already-printed indicia due to the removal or transparency of the opacification layer. Opacification reduction or elimination is accomplished through a number of physical processes involving a water-activated binder and either insoluble pigment particles, effervescing bubbles, the use of transparent oils, agglomeration or the complete or partial removal of the opacification layer.

    摘要: Microparticles that are designed to release their payload when exposed to acidic conditions are provided as a vehicle for drug delivery. Any therapeutic, diagnostic, or prophylatic agent may be encapsulated in a lipid-protein-sugar or polymeric matrix including a pH triggering agent to form pH triggerable microparticles. Preferably the diameter of the pH triggered microparticles ranges from 50 nm to 10 micrometers. The matrix of the particles may be prepared using any known lipid (e.g., DPPC), protein (e.g., albumin), or sugar (e.g., lactose). The matrix of the particles may also be prepared using any synthetic polymers such as polyesters. Methods of preparing and administering the particles are provided. Methods of immunization, transfection, and gene therapy are also provided by administering pH triggerable microparticles.

The construct includes an encoding sequence for a polypeptide of coagulation factor VIII or a functional variant thereof. The plant cell is cultured or regenerated into a plant and the polypeptide or functional variant of factor VIII is expressed therein. The invention also includes vectors, plant cells, plant tissues, plants and seeds containing a polynucleotide sequence encoding a functional variant of human coagulation factor VIII. The invention further includes a recombinant DNA molecule having a promoter which is functional in plants operably linked to a coding sequence which codes for a polynucleotide having coagulation factor VIII activity.
