摘要: A transducer (1) for producing sound in response to an electrical signal comprises an actuator (2) with a magnet (4) and a coil (5), and a vibration surface (3), for example a loudspeaker cone. The actuator and the vibration surface are mechanically coupled. The transducer (1) is designed to operate at substantially its resonance frequency (f0). This results in a very high transducer efficiency, which is particularly relevant for rendering low audio frequencies.

摘要: The invention relates to a system (10) and method for influencing a photobiological state in a vertebrate (5). The system comprises a light source (30, 32) for emitting light which influences the photobiological state, a sensor (20, 22) arranged to sense a first biophysical parameter (P1), and a control circuit (12) for controlling the light source (30, 32) so as to generate a predetermined photobiological state. The biophysical parameter represents a biological state of the vertebrate (5). The control circuit (12) receives a feedback signal (S1, S2) from the sensor (20, 22) and subsequently sends a control signal (16, 17, 18, S3) to the light source (30, 32) for controlling the light source (30, 32). The control signal is generated by combining a second parameter with the first biophysical parameter. The second parameter is a second biophysical parameter or an interaction parameter characterizing an interaction of the vertebrate with a device. The second parameter represents a further biological state of the vertebrate. The second biophysical parameter is sensed, for example, at a different time and/or is a different biophysical parameter as compared to the first biophysical parameter.

摘要: A main stream contains successive content elements of video and/or audio information that encode video and/or audio information at a first data rate. A computation circuit (144) computes main fingerprints from the successive content elements. A reference stream is received having a second data rate lower than the first data rate. The reference stream defines a sequence of the reference fingerprints. A comparator unit (144) compares the main fingerprints with the reference fingerprints. The main stream is monitored for the presence of inserted content elements between original content elements, where the original content elements have main fingerprints that match successive reference fingerprints and the inserted content elements have main fingerprints that do not match reference fingerprints. Rendering of inserted content elements to be skipped. In an embodiment when more than one content element matches only one is rendered. In another embodiment matching is used to control zapping to or from the main stream. In another embodiment matching is used to control linking of separately received mark-up information such as subtitles to points in the main stream.

摘要: A beamforming system (ASY) comprises a modular transducer assembly (MTA) composed of a plurality of transducer modules (TM1, TM2, TM3). A transducer module comprises a plurality of interfaces having different geometrical orientations. An interface allows the transducer module to be physically coupled to another transducer module. In a reconnaissance phase, the beamforming system identifies transducer modules that are present in the modular transducer assembly (MTA). The beamforming system further identifies a structure in accordance with which the transducer modules have been physically coupled to each other. In a configuration phase, the beamforming system defines a signal relationship between the transducer modules on the basis of identification data that has been obtained in the reconnaissance phase and a desired directional response pattern.

摘要: A parametric loudspeaker system comprises a pre-compensator (305) for generating a pre-compensated envelope signal by applying a pre-compensation to the input audio signal where the pre-compensation compensates for distortion of in-air demodulation of the modulated ultrasound signal. A pre-modulator (307) generates a complex base band signal generating a phase signal from the pre-compensated envelope signal using a predetermined function for determining a phase signal from an amplitude signal such that the corresponding complex signal has either suppressed negative or positive frequencies. The complex base band signal is then generated to have an amplitude corresponding to the pre-compensated envelope signal and a phase corresponding to the phase signal. A modulator (309) quadrature modulates the complex base band signal on an ultrasonic quadrature carrier and an output circuit (311) drives the ultrasound transducer (301) from the modulated signal. The invention may allow effective yet low resource pre-compensation for a suppressed or single sideband modulated modulated ultrasound signal.

摘要: The present invention refers to an active sound reduction system and method for attenuation of sound emitted by a primary sound source, especially for attenuation of snoring sounds emitted by a human being. This system comprises a primary sound source, at least one speaker as a secondary sound source for producing an attenuating sound to be superposed with the sound emitted by said primary sound source, a reference microphone for receiving sound from said primary sound source, and at least one error microphone being allocated to each speaker to form a speaker/microphone pair. The at least one error microphone is provided as a directional microphone pointing at its allocated speaker to receive residual sound resulting from the superposition of the sounds from the primary sound source and the corresponding speaker. The error microphone and speaker of at least one speaker/microphone pair and the primary sound source are arranged substantially collinear. A control unit is provided to receive an output reference signal of the reference microphone representing the sound received by the reference microphone and an output error signal of the at least one error microphone representing the sound received by the at least one error microphone and to calculate a control signal for the speaker from the output reference signal and the output error signal.
