    Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device that includes: a housing including a first plate facing a first direction and a second plate facing a direction opposite the first direction; a display layer disposed between the first and second plates; and a touch detection layer disposed between the display layer and the second plate, wherein the touch detection layer may include: a first layer including a first face facing the display layer, a second face facing a direction away from the first face, and an opening; a second layer disposed between the opening and the second plate, electrically connected to the first layer, and being coupled to the first layer; and a fingerprint sensor disposed in the opening and disposed between the first layer and the second layer.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided for operating an interface with an external device in an electronic device. A connection of the external device to the electronic device is recognized. It is determined whether the external device is a SAW device. A request signal is transmitted to the SAW device when the external device is the SAW device. A response signal corresponding to the request signal is received from the SAW device. The response signal is processed. Data is output according to the processed response signal.

    Abstract: Provided are an electronic device and operation method thereof. The electronic device may include: a display having a biometric sensing region; a biometric sensor disposed in the biometric sensing region; and a processor. The processor may be configured to: operate a first sub-region of the biometric sensing region according to a first display attribute and operate a second sub-region of the biometric sensing region according to a second display attribute; while the first sub-region is operated according to the first display attribute and the second sub-region is operated according to the second display attribute, obtain, through the biometric sensor, a signal corresponding to an external object, wherein the signal is generated at least partially based on light that is emitted from the first sub-region or the second sub-region and reflected by the external object; perform authentication on the external object if the signal satisfies a specified condition; and prevent authentication on the external object if the signal does not satisfy the specified condition.
