The present invention relates to an automatic switching method. A device according to an embodiment of the present invention is an automatic switching device in a second device, which comprises a controller for enabling the second device, together with a first device, to perform a terminal discovery and a service discovery, transmit a connection request message including a continuous connection field and an automatic connection mode from the second device, and receive a particular service from the first device on the basis of the information included in the connection request message, wherein the continuous connection field includes a service identifier.

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for sharing contacts entries at a Telephony Server (TS), the method including receiving a request from a Telephony Control Point coupled to the TS in a Universal Plug and Play home network to share at least one contact element associated with a contact entry with at least one recipient, retrieving the at least one contact element from a network address book in a Wide Area Network server connected to the TS or from a local address book in the TS, and sharing the at least one contact element with the at least one recipient.

A method and an apparatus for transmitting data on a wireless connection is provided. The method includes selecting a device to receive data; transmitting, to the device, a first signal including attribute information about the data, before an establishment of a wireless connection with the device is completed; receiving, from the device, a second signal indicating whether the transmission of the data is accepted by the device; and establishing the wireless connection with the device to transmit the data through the wireless connection, in response to reception of the second signal indicating the transmission of the data is accepted.

The present invention is configured such that a transmitter transmits group information and group intent information in addition to a service association frame, and constructs a topology based on the response from a receiver. The method according to one embodiment of the present invention is a method in which a first device cooperates with a second device to form a peer-to-peer (P2P) group, the method comprising the steps in which: the first device cooperates with the second device to perform a terminal discovery process and a service discovery process; a the first device transmits a request message, including connection capabilities, to the second device; the first device receives a response message to the request message from the second device; and the first device cooperates with the second device to form a group based on the negotiated group type information included in the response message.

The present invention provides a method and system for managing telephony services in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, a method includes creating one or more profiles associated with at least one Telephony Control Point (TelCP) in an UPnP home network environment, each of the one or more profiles includes one or more service settings associated with telephony services. The method also includes storing the one or more profiles associated with the at least one TelCP in a service settings database. Additionally, the method includes setting one of the one or more profiles as an active profile for the at least one TelCP, and providing telephony services to the at least one TelCP according to the one or more service settings associated with the active profile.

In one or more embodiments a system and an apparatus for utilizing a multimedia service are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a first client device, a media managing server and a media provider system to implement the multimedia service. The first client device is associated with a user desiring to utilize the multimedia service. The first client device includes, primarily, a processor, and a memory configured with one or more programs and is connected to the processor. The memory includes a media handling module configured for managing sensory inputs and customized outputs that are characteristic to the immersive multimedia service and a social communicator assisting in providing immersive multimedia service, the social communicator being configured for enabling social communication of the first client device with a second client device through the media managing server based on a set of user preferences provided by the user.

The present invention relates to a method a system for managing one or more voice mails in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network. In one embodiment, a method includes providing a notification indicating receipt of one or more voice mails to one or more Telephony Control Points (TelCPs) through a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) home network and providing one or more voice mails to the one or more TelCPs. The method further includes providing a list of one or more voice mails to the one or more TelCPs. The method also includes deleting one or more voice mails from a telephony server (TS). Furthermore, the method includes composing one or more voice mail containing emotional symbols and depositing the one or more voice mails in a voice mail server. Moreover, the method includes recalling one or more voice mails deposited in the voice mail server.

A topology handling method for supporting a first device to form a Peer to Peer (P2P) group with a second device in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes sending, by the first device, an invitation request to the second device; and upon receiving a wait message from the second device in response to the invitation request, performing a negotiation procedure for forming the P2P group with the second device, based on status information included in the wait message. The status information is used to indicate whether the second device can use other services.
