Abstract:
A security system in a vehicle extends its protection to installed equipment of the vehicle, such as audio components, navigation systems, and entertainment systems. The installed equipment is armed and disarmed by the security system, preventing the equipment from normal functioning after unauthorized removal. The security system further enables programming, monitoring, and diagnosing of the installed equipment through the security system's remote control, through a configuration and maintenance tool that connects to the security system, or through other items of installed equipment within the vehicle, such as a rear-seat entertainment system.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a simulation for displaying a screen formulated from data, such as a FLIR sensor, relying on color definitions that are more readily supported by common image generators, most preferably 8-bit per channel RGB color processing and video output. The system has an image generator that transmits a video signal of at least two digital data channels, and a display system with a combiner circuit and a visual display device. The bit sets of the channels each represent a respective value of the data variable at a resolution for that channel, and the bit sets of the second channel each represent a respective value of the data variable at a second resolution higher than the resolution of the first channel. Combiner circuitry receives the channels of video output and processes these channels to select the channel which represents the accurate data unaffected by clamping. It is preferred to provide at least three channels of pixel data representing the value of the display data, in three different resolutions and ranges, high resolution; middle resolution and low resolution. In the preferred embodiment, the data displayed on the display device are simulated FLIR infra-red intensities, which correlate to the temperatures of the simulated objects being viewed. Preferably, the ranges of different resolution IR data encompass the ambient temperature being simulated, because attenuation of infra-red in reality tends to compress all detected infra-red temperatures to a narrow field around ambient temperature.
Abstract:
Coating dispenser apparatus and methods which utilize a snuff back device for removing a small amount of coating material from the discharge passage of the dispenser upon shut-off thereof at the end of a coating run. A control is provided which discharges the material removed from the discharge passage back into the discharge passage upon a predetermined delay after the start of the next coating run. The disclosed methods contemplate the discharge of coating material back into the discharge passage in the middle of the next coating pattern, or depending on the application, during any segment of the next coating pattern after a defined leading edge of the pattern is created, during which segment the coating material discharged back into the discharge pattern smoothly blends into the coating pattern as it is applied to a substrate. The apparatus and methods are especially useful for applying conformal coating patterns onto circuit boards.
Abstract:
A process for making a candy bar that includes a first substance and a second substance wherein the second substance is either injected into the first substance or coated over the first substance. The candy bar includes a licorice material that is manufactured from a syrup concoction that includes a coconut oil of a defined percentage. Subsequent to the completion of the manufacturing of the first substance, the candy bar is finished to create one of two embodiments. A second substance, chocolate, is injected into the first substance to create the first embodiment. To create the second embodiment of the candy bar, the second substance, chocolate, is coated over the first substance. The second substance, chocolate, is manufactured to have a different melting point for each of the two aforementioned embodiments.
Abstract:
A server-implemented method for communicating data between the server and a first device is described. Communications with the first device are established by emulating functions of a second device. A request to pass the data to the first device is received. A determination is made as to whether the data exist on the server. The data are streamed to a virtual desktop on the first device.
Abstract:
An electronic device such as watch adapted for wireless communication, the electronic device using a dipole antenna, the dipole antenna having two component parts, each of which being disposed in respective parts of a two-part connecting band, such as a watchband of the electronic device.
Abstract:
A mobile electronic device, such as a smart personal object includes an antenna system for emitting and receiving signals. The antenna system includes at least two antennas electrically connected in parallel to define an equivalent circuit having a reduced inductance with a substantially unaffected induced voltage for the equivalent circuit.
Abstract:
Millions of schoolchildren take a ride to and from school on buses every day. Quite frequently we hear about multiple problems with the school buses. The school bus did not arrive on time, the bus did not show up at all, or the time or place of a bus stop has changed without notification—all these problems are unfortunately very common. Today's School Transportation systems do not always work as fast and as reliably as it is reasonably expected. These systems use phone or fax-based communication. These methods are slow, inefficient, and can be catastrophic since children's safety is on the line. Online Schoolchildren Transportation Management Method, System, and Computer Program Products, store data and provide real-time communication between the main participants of the schoolchildren transportation process: school transportation officers, district, county and/or state transportation management, schoolchildren and/or parents, and/or school bus drivers via a Web based network. Embodiments of the present invention allow efficient and streamlined communications between the main participants of the School Children Transportation Process to solve the following: Student's Transportation Change Request and Response; Transportation Information Lookup and Reporting in Real-Time; Transportation Emergencies and Exceptions; Bus Stop Location Change/Addition; Automatic Request/Response Notification Flow; Bus Arrival/Departure information; Management Reporting; Field Trips Request; Special Needs/Handicapped, Front Desk/Call Center Operator and etc. The new system (method, computer program) provides a framework for uniform and standardized information exchange between System Participants, thus guarantying uniform data collection, processing and reporting and opening numerous additional benefits to further utilization of the collected data.
Abstract:
A dry powder delivery system and method for use, the system having an elongated tube containing a matrix having a measured amount of dry particles of a therapeutic compound and a porous element having a desiccant therein. The porous element with the desiccant can be combined with the powder-containing matrix or it can be two separate elements. The pressure drop induced by inhalation of the user causes air to flow through the tube and into contact with the particles of dry powder for discharging the particles for inhalation by the user.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer program product for building at least a portion of a motion picture on a computer system first monitors memory in the computer system for the creation of a frame of the motion picture. It consequently sets a flag in the computer system when it detects that the frame has been stored in the memory. Once the flag is set, the rendered frame is directed to a motion picture builder. Each frame in the portion of the motion picture being built is processed in this manner until the motion picture portion is formed.
