Abstract:
A facsimile machine including an image retrieval unit for retrieving image data from an image of a document; a retrieval buffer memory for temporarily storing the image data retrieved by the image retrieval unit; an encoder for producing encoded data by encoding the image data stored in the retrieval buffer memory; a memory for storing the encoded data when the encoded data is not immediately transmitted after being encoded by the encoder; a transmission buffer for temporarily storing the encoded data before transmission of a facsimile transmission; and a buffer memory usage switching unit for switching use of the retrieval buffer memory and the transmission buffer so that the transmission buffer memory is used as a portion of the retrieval buffer memory when the encoder processes the image data for storage as encoded data in the memory.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes a use restriction unit that restricts use of the information processing apparatus based on identification information stored in an identification information storage unit, and a controller. The controller is operable to update the identification information stored in the identification information storage unit, send the updated identification information to a preset mail address, by an E-mail, receive an E-mail, determine whether the received E-mail is an E-mail replying to the sent E-mail, and control the identification information storage unit to store identification information included in the received E-mail as new identification information if the received E-mail is determined to be the E-mail replying to the sent E-mail.
Abstract:
A communication device is provided, wherein specific individual information in a database that the communication device stores is viewable from a terminal connected to a network to promote information protection. A communication device can communicate with a terminal through the network. A storage stores the database including a plurality of records, each of which describes individual information. A receiver receives a readout-request, from the terminal, of a specific record in the database. A file creating module creates a terminal-viewable file based on one of the records, from the specific individual information in the record. A transmitter transmits, to the terminal, the file created based on the record designated by a received readout-request.
Abstract:
There is provided a multi-function device which is provided with a display unit on which information regarding at least one of the plurality of typed of functions is displayed, and a display controller that controls the display unit to display the information regarding the at least one of the plurality of types of functions on the display unit. The display controller changes ordering of priority used to determine which type of information of a plurality of types of information respectively related to the plurality of types of functions should be displayed on the display unit in accordance with user operation.
Abstract:
A double-sided record apparatus for forming images on both sides of a recording medium. The double-sided record apparatus includes: a print head that moves relatively to the record medium and ejects ink onto a face of the record medium; a counting unit configured to count the number of ejected ink droplets to a predetermined area on the record medium from the print head; a comparison unit configured to compare the number of ejected ink droplets counted by the counting unit with a predetermined value; and a determination unit configured to determine whether double-sided record of the record medium is enabled based on a comparison result of the comparison unit.

Abstract:
An information processing device that is capable of concurrently processing tasks of a plurality of jobs using time sharing. The plurality of jobs includes a first job and a second job wherein a conflict relating to a resource exists between the first and second jobs. The information processing device includes a job determination unit that determines when the first job is to be executed; a data processing unit that, when the job determination unit determines that the first job is to be executed, performs data processes to indicate that the resource is presently being used.
Abstract:
A facsimile machine capable of receiving input of data from a switchboard over a telephone circuit during a silent interval between a first ring signal and a second ring signal, and including a network control unit NCU for detecting the first ring signal; a clock for starting measurement of a predetermined duration of time when the NCU detects the first ring signal and stopping measurement of the predetermined duration of time between an end of the data and a beginning of the second ring signal; and a CPU for causing the NCU to close a telephone circuit when the clock stops measurement of the predetermined duration of time.
Abstract:
An epoxy resin composition for semiconductor encapsulation of the present invention contains an epoxy resin (A) and a curing agent (B) and is used to encapsulate a copper wire (4) and a semiconductor element (1) connected to this copper wire (4). This epoxy resin composition is such that when a cured product of the epoxy resin composition is heated for 10 hours at 200° C., the amount of generation of a first corrosive gas that is a sulfur compound having corrosiveness to the copper wire (4) is less than or equal to 70 ppm.
