摘要: Systems, devices, and methods are provided for orthopedic implants. The implants may include a base member, such as an acetabular shell or an augment, that is configured to couple with an augment, flange cup, mounting member, or any other suitable orthopedic attachment. Any of the implantable components may be include one or more porous surfaces. The porous surface may be textured by protrusions that connect to and extend from the surface. The sizes and concentration of the protrusions may be varied for specific applications to accommodate different implants and patient anatomies. A porous implant may also include one or more internal or external solid portions that strengthen the implant.

摘要: Systems, devices, and methods are described for providing orthopedic implants that reduces the negative effects of stress shielding on surrounding bone structure. The orthopedic implants are comprised of two portions, a shell portion that forms an articulation interfaces and an intermediate portion that forms a bone interface. The shell portion is designed to reduce absorption of Carticulation forces and evenly distribute incident forces to the intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is designed to form a strong interface with native bone and transmit forces from the shell into the bone.

摘要: A method of generating a custom three-dimensional model of a bone is disclosed. A 2D image of the bone is obtained and an orientation and scale of the 2D image are aligned to a pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, a representative bone is identified from a library of representative bones that are aligned to the pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, an ideal view of a 3D model of the representative bone is selected. Modifications may be made to the 3D model by using additional representative bones from the library. A custom three-dimensional model of the bone is thereby generated.

摘要: A system and method for pre-operatively optimizing a fit of an orthopaedic implant relative to a particular individuals anatomy is provided. The method includes: receiving information including a three-dimensional anatomic model of the individuals anatomy; computing a periphery of a simulated resection portion of the anatomic model without reference to any abnormal morphology; identifying a preliminary size for an orthopaedic implant component for use on the simulated resection surface; initially positioning the orthopaedic implant model relative to the simulated resection portion; generating random point sets around the peripheries of the simulated resection portion and the orthopaedic implant model; utilizing a position optimizer to determine whether the position of the orthopaedic implant periphery relative to the simulated resection portion periphery is optimal; determining whether the selected orthopaedic implant model results in overhang; and verifying the position of the orthopaedic implant and/or the size of the orthopaedic implant.
