Abstract:
A cutting tool comprising may include at least one abrasive tip that includes an abrasive cutting edge, and an insert body. The insert body includes a moldable material, and the moldable material is adhered to a portion of the abrasive tip.
Abstract:
A method for producing a press connection arrangement comprises connecting a body to a socket to form a unit, inserting an end of a tube into at least a part of the unit, and press-connecting the socket onto the tube in the area of a bead provided by the socket to house a sealing element between the socket and the tube and obtain a press connection arrangement being fluid tight. The element of connecting the body to the socket further comprises screwing a thread of the body onto a thread of the socket and, at least partially deforming the mating threads to create an anti-rotational lock. A press connection arrangement produced by such a method is also defined.
Abstract:
A pipe fitting comprising a housing (10:37:41) defining at ore rolled over end thereof an opening (36) through which it is intended a predetermined diameter pipe (28) is inserted, in use, with a clearance space between the pipe and the housing, The fitting has a grip-ring (19) for gripping the pipe (28) and a pipe support means (20:38) downstream of the grip-ring and ahead of sealing means (21). Downstream of the sealing means, are means (22:40) for limiting movement of the sealing means. The rolled over end of the housing effects engagement of the grip-ring with the housing and thus ensures electrical continuity between an inserted pipe and the housing. Also disclosed is a release tool (42) for use with the fitting.
Abstract:
A bonded web of multi-component strands that include a first polymeric component and a second polymeric component is capable of overcoming a number of problems associated with nonwoven webs including both stickiness and blocking. The first polymeric component and second polymeric component are arranged in substantially distinct zones extending longitudinally along at least a portion of a length of the strands which make up the web with the second component containing a zone constituting at least a portion of the peripheral surface of the strand. The first polymeric component also has an elasticity which is greater than that of the second polymer component. A process producing elastomeric spunbonded nonwoven fabrics which utilizes the activation by incremental stretching of the strands is also provided.
Abstract:
A device (20) or restricting removal from the end of a tubular member (2) of a collar (4) or the like located on the tubular member (2) and a method using the device (20), the device (20) comprising an axially extending portion (22) for engagement in the end of the tubular member (2) and a radially outwardly extending portion (28) which in use is located outside the end of the tubular member (2) and which extends radially outwardly to a greater diameter than the internal diameter of the collar (4), thereby to restrict removal of the collar (4) from the end of the tubular member (2). In addition there is provided (20) for sealing the axially facing end of a tubular member (2), the device (20) comprising an axially extending portion (22) for engagement in the tubular member (2), a radially outwardly extending portion (28) which in use is located outside the tubular member (2) and a sealing means (48) for sealing between the radially outwardly extending portion (28) and the axially facing end (54) of the tubular member (2).
Abstract:
A method for characterizing a three-dimensional spatial distribution of a characteristic of an ultra-hard body includes successively removing portions of the ultra-hard body to successively expose sub-portions, determining a characteristic of each of the exposed sub-portions, and reconstructing a three-dimensional spatial distribution of the characteristic of the ultra-hard body from the determined characteristic of each of the sub-portions.

Abstract:
Briefly described, embodiments of this disclosure include fusible print media, methods of making fusible print media, and systems for preparing a fused ink-jet image. One exemplary embodiment of the fusible print medium, among others, includes a substrate and an ink-receiving layer disposed on the substrate. The ink-receiving layer includes a plurality of hollow polymer beads having substantially the same diameter.
Abstract:
A method for changing the color of colored Type I natural diamonds includes placing a Type I natural diamond into a high pressure/high temperature (HP/HT) press at elevated pressure and elevated temperature for a time sufficient to change or improve the color of the diamond.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for the treatment of microbial infection, and in particular meningococcal disease, comprise a commensal Neisseria or an extract of a commensal Neisseria. Further methods and compositions comprise commensal Neisseria which express genes from virulent strains of Neisseria and/or heterologous gene products from non-Neisserial sources. Such compositions are used in vaccine preparations for the treatment of microbial infection.
