摘要: In a light emitting diode array, an N-electrode layer (32) is extended from the bottom surface to the top surface of a semiconductor body (30) through the side surface. PN junctions (42) are exposed to the cleavage surface (S) and light is emitted therefrom. Since the N-electrode layer and P-electrode layers (41) are located on a common surface, the LED array can be mounted on a base plate through a soldering process. The LED array can be used without a self-focus lens array in an electric printer for photography.

摘要: A multiple-disc player includes a player housing in which a disc holder housing discs held on respective plate-like trays is loaded. Desired discs are selected and transferred successively from the disc holder onto the disc carrying surface of a turntable by a disc pickup/transfer mechanism for continuous disc playback operation. A playback means including the turntable is supported on a support member through a vibration-resistant mechanism. The support member is movable between retracted and unretracted positions with respect to the trays as they are pushed out of the disc holder. When the support member is in the unretracted position, the playback means is fixed to the player housing by a lock mechanism for increased resistance to vibration.

摘要: After a liquid-phase epitaxial growth step by an n-type GaAs saturated solution is terminated, a substrate is temporarily dipped in an undoped GaAs saturated or supersaturated solution, and thereafter liquid-phase epitaxial growth is performed by a p-type Al.sub.x Ga.sub.1-x As saturated solution. Thus, the n-type GaAs saturated solution is prevented from being mixed into the p-type Al.sub.x Ga.sub.1-x As saturated solution to contaminate the same, whereby a solar battery of high quality can be obtained even if the number of times of crystallization is increased.

摘要: A method for forming an image on a light-sensitive material with a light-sensitive layer composed of a photopolymerizable composition, and an apparatus for carrying out the method are described. This method comprises exposing imagewise, heating, and developing a number of light-sensitive materials while the time interval between the heating and developing steps is maintained at a definite level. Changes in sensitivity of the light sensitive material are prevented and images of high sensitivity are obtained.

摘要: An improved fork lift truck control system using a microcomputer, which comprises a sensing unit including a first sensor for detecting a lift height of a fork above its lowest position and a second sensor for detecting a tilting angle of an upright with respect to a neutral position of the upright including an input interface circuit for interfacing the sensing unit and control unit which has: (a) a lifting height counting circuit which counts the number of pulses produced on a basis of two photo-converted electrical signals fed from two photocouplers constituting the first sensor, the signals having a phase difference of 90.degree. from each other, so that an accurate measurement of the lifting height of the fork can be made; (b) an analog-to-digital converter which produces a bit string according to an output signal from the second sensor; and (c) an abnormal detection facility which detects a defective analog-to-digital converter and second sensor by comparing the bit string presently outputted from the analog-to-digital converter with each of predetermined bit strings that would be produced if the analog-to-digital converter operates normally.

摘要: In a video signal reproducing apparatus having a cathode ray tube in which at least one electron beam is made to scan a screen in line-scanning and vertical directions while the intensity of the beam is modulated to establish the brightness of a video picture to be displayed on the screen, and in which bright picture portions are represented by respective high level portions of a video signal defined between rising and falling edges extending from low level signal portions representing contiguous dark picture portions; a waveshaping circuit receives the video signal and acts thereon to provide a compensated video signal in which the width of each high level portion between the respective rising and falling edges is increased, the compensated video signal is employed to control the intensity of the electron beam, the rising and falling edges of each high level portion of the video signal are detected to provide a beam velocity modulation signal with respective positive and negative peaks by which the scanning velocity of the beam in the line-scanning direction is modulated, and the positions of such positive and negative peaks are shafted, relative to the corresponding peaks of a differentiation of the video signal, in the directions toward the adjacent low level signal portions of the compensated video signal.
