A registration sheet is prepared in order that a user can grasp the contents of the registered information, and an ID image pattern formed by patterning a data ID comprising the apparatus ID and the image ID is superimposed on the registration sheet. In extracting the registered information, the registration sheet is read and the ID image pattern is converted into the data ID, then the filing apparatus in which the information is registered is identified based on the apparatus ID included in the data ID, and the registered information is extracted therefrom.
