    摘要: The present invention discloses a single-level driver is programmed to generate a plurality of segment voltage signals. A multicolor backlight modulation device receives the segment voltage signals and modulating a portion of the segment voltage signals to generate a common voltage signal and at least two synchronous color-separation backlight driving signals driving a backlight source to emitting different-color backlights. The common voltage signal cooperates with the segment voltage signals to form voltage differences which drive a mono-pixel to turn on or turn off in a time-division mode and allow different-color backlights to pass the mono-pixel at the same time. The time-division different-color backlights are accumulated by vision persistence to present a chromatic effect on the mono-pixel. The resultant colors can be intelligently varied via programming the segment voltage signals to achieve diversified multicolor effects. Therefore, the present invention can enable mono-pixels to present multicolor effect with a single-level display chip.

    摘要: The present invention modulates a plurality of sequentially generated common voltage signals into a new common voltage signal and synchronous color-separation backlight control signals turning on different-color backlight sources. The new common voltage signals and segment voltage signals cooperate to form voltage differences making a mono-pixel allow different-color backlights to pass and controlling the mono-pixel to turn on or turn off in a time-division mode. The effects of the time-division different-color backlights are accumulated by vision persistence to form different colors on the mono-pixel. Thus, the present invention can enable a monochromatic LCD chip and a mono-pixel to present a multi-color effect.

    摘要: A dual-frequency bistable liquid crystal display and the liquid crystal mixture thereof includes liquid crystal cell filled with a liquid crystal mixture which contains dual-frequency liquid crystal, chiral compound, and nematic liquid crystal mixture. The liquid crystal mixture has the characteristics of both the dual-frequency liquid crystal and cholesteric liquid crystal. The dual-frequency bistable liquid crystal display is driven in a frequency modulation mode and can be switched between two optical states by taking advantage of the dielectric anisotropy of the liquid crystal, which results in a short switching time and sharp contrast between two optical states. Furthermore, the maintaining of the two optical states requires no voltage, which does not require the use of a high voltage to destabilize the helical structure of the cholesteric liquid crystal, and does not have to go through a metastable stage. Hence, power consumption and switching time are reduced.

    摘要: In a first pair of stacked PMOS devices comprising a first PMOS device and a second PMOS device, a first pumping circuit is coupled between a gate of the first PMOS device and a P pre-driver signal. In a second pair of stacked NMOS devices comprising a first NMOS device and a second NMOS device, a second pumping circuit is coupled between a gate of the first NMOS device and an N pre-driver signal. The pumping circuits recognizing the transition from the pre-driver signals provide a voltage to the gate of the first PMOS device and of the first NMOS device so that the first PMOS and NMOS devices are turned on better. As a result, their voltage Vds peaks are suppressed to a safe level; the devices avoid hot-carrier degradations; and their lifetimes are prolonged.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a REPEATED-SCAN driving method, which applies to a field sequential color liquid crystal display, wherein each sequential-color cycle of the multiplex-scan signal has at least two stages of scans to increase the luminous fluxes of all colors of backlights and bring closer the total amounts of fluxes, whereby is achieved higher color saturation and better flux uniformity between the rows. Further, the method of the present invention controls the backlights to form dark stages between the intervals respectively of two different colors of the backlights and controls the dark stage to coincide with a color-mixing interval, which is caused by response delay of liquid crystal, to prevent from color distortion caused by color mixing. Therefore, the present invention can generate the pure colors and the designed derived colors accurately.
