Abstract:
A golf club head comprises an outer titanium club-head shell, and a titanium sole portion integrally coupled to the outer club-head shell. A weight fitting hole is bored in the sole portion, and a plurality of cutouts are formed in the inner peripheral edge portion of the fitting hole. A weight made of metal having a specific gravity higher than that of titanium is inserted into the fitting hole, and the weight is fixed to the sole portion after press-deformed so that its outer peripheral edges are press-fitted into the respective cutouts. A method for producing a golf club head comprises the steps of molding the outer club-head shell from titanium, molding the sole portion having the weight fitting hole from titanium, forming the plurality of cutouts in the inner peripheral edge portion of the fitting hole of the sole portion, inserting the weight made of metal having a specific gravity higher than that of titanium into the fitting hole, fixing the weight to the sole portion by press-deforming the weight in such a way as to press-fit the outer peripheral edges of the weight into the respective cutouts, and coupling the outer club-head shell and the sole portion integrally by welding.
Abstract:
In the art of liquid crystal displays, there is the problem of differential expansion or contraction of components of the display upon changes in temperature. This leads to degradation of the display upon changes in temperature. The liquid crystal display of the invention includes at least a liquid crystal cell and a polarizing sheet. The liquid crystal display of the invention optionally further includes a phase retarder. The components of each of these elements are made of materials such that differences in the linear expansion coefficients among the materials is less than 0.5.times.10.sup.-5 /.degree.C.

A novel organic transition metal compound is disclosed, which is represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein the all symbols are defined in the disclosure. A polymerization catalyst comprising the organic transition metal compound and a process for the preparation of a polyolefin using the polymerization catalyst are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A novel class of olefin polymerization catalyst system based on specific organo-transition metal compounds and which are effective for controlling in particular the width and mode of the molecular weight distribution of the resulting polyolefins, and processes of olefin polymerization using the novel catalyst systems are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for directly observing the slag-foaming conditions in a vessel interior.A device for observing the vessel interior light is disposed in a throughhole extending through the side wall of a top-blowing or top- and bottom-blowing converter to reach the vessel interior. The converter operation can be carried out at a high accuracy on the basis of this observation.
Abstract:
Assembly for dehydrating atmospheric air at the input side of a blower for supplying air to a blast furnace comprising at least one gas permeable rotor containing a regenerative moisture absorbent wherein a hot combustion gas obtained by burning a waste gas from the blast furnace is utilized for regenerating the absorbent and wherein means for regulating the relative humidity of the moist air to be dehydrated, which does not need any external heat source, is provided to avoid deliquescence of the absorbent. The rotor preferably comprises a layer containing the absorbent and a layer of an adsorbent capable of adsorbing impurities contained in the air.

Provided are polypropylene resin pre-foamed particles including, as base resin, polypropylene resin that satisfies the following requirements (a) through (c): (a) in cross fractionation chromatography, an amount of components eluted at a temperature of not more than 40° C. is not more than 2.0% by weight; (b) a melting point is not less than 100° C. but not more than 160° C.; and (c) propylene monomer units are present in an amount of not less than 90 mol % but not more than 100 mol %, and olefin units each having a carbon number of 2 or 4 or more are present in an amount of not less than 0 mol % but not more than 10 mol %. The polypropylene resin pre-foamed particles can be molded by in-mold foaming molding at a not high molding heating steam pressure, and a polypropylene resin in-mold foaming molded product excellent in dimensional stability at high temperatures can be prepared from the polypropylene resin pre-foamed particles.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus executes functional processing according to specific functional processing information stored in a storage unit. The image forming apparatus determines whether any data remains in the storage unit when new functional processing information is set. The image forming apparatus prevents the specific functional processing information stored in the storage unit from being updated based on the new functional processing information if any data remains in the storage unit, and replaces the specific functional processing information stored in the storage unit with the new functional processing information if no data remains in the storage unit.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus capable of shifting to a power saving mode. The image processing apparatus includes a storing unit configured to store a document in a storage device, a notification unit configured to periodically notify an apparatus of a predetermined destination of information about a document that has been newly stored by the storing unit into the storage device, and a control unit configured to restrict shifting to a power saving mode in which the notification unit cannot make the notification after storage of a document by the storing unit has been completed and until the notification unit notifies at least information about the document.
