Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for determining a maximum and/or target output power on a per-beam and/or per-direction basis for a base station of a radio access network (“RAN”) that implements multiple beams for which output power is dynamically adjustable. The maximum and/or target output power for a given beam (or set of beams) for a given time period may be determined based on historical output power information associated with the beam over one or more previous time periods. The maximum and/or target output power may be based on a predicted received signal power within a coverage area of the base station, based on varying levels of output power.

Abstract: A network device may receive a request to connect to a network from a user equipment device and perform a first admission control procedure to determine whether to temporarily allow the user equipment device to connect to the network. The network device may receive information identifying a slice associated with the user equipment device in response to determining to temporarily allow the user equipment device to connect to the network. The network device may perform a second admission control procedure to determine whether to allow the user equipment device to connect to the network. The second admission control procedure is based on the slice associated with the user equipment device. The network device may allocate network resources to the user equipment device in response to determining to allow the user equipment device to connect to the network.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the selection of On Durations, Off Durations, and associated timers for monitoring of downlink traffic for a User Equipment (“UE”). For example, the UE may monitor a Physical Downlink Control Channel (“PDCCH”) according to a first set of On and Off Durations associated with a particular profile selected for the UE, and monitor the PDCCH according to a second set of On and Off Durations associated with the particular profile upon expiration of a timer associated with the first set of On and Off Durations. Machine learning or other suitable techniques may be used to refine the selection of On/Off Durations and associated timers in an ongoing process.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein bring a 5G standalone-capable end device back into 5G service to leverage the 5G network's data capacity as soon as a VoLTE call is over. A network device receives a fallback connection, for a 5G New Radio (NR) standalone-capable end device, from a second network to the first network to support a voice call on the end device, wherein the fallback connection supports a voice-over-LTE call. The network device detects an end of the VoLTE call and initiates, in response to the detecting, a handover of the end device back to the second network, wherein the initiating occurs while the end device is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected mode.

The user equipment receives, from the base station, an instruction to monitor the first bandwidth part, the second bandwidth part, or the third bandwidth part. The instruction is selected based on the user equipment information. The user equipment monitors, based on the instruction, the first bandwidth part, the second bandwidth part, or the third bandwidth part.

Abstract: A user device parses system information block data, received from a first cell, to identify an upper layer indicator element, and determines, based on the upper layer indicator element, that the user device is in an EN-DC area. The user device causes, based on determining that the user device is in the EN-DC area, first display of a first indicator on a display of the user device, and sends a request to the first cell for a data connection. The user device receives, from the first cell, a message that indicates a second cell will initiate the data connection via a 5G NR millimeter wave connection. The user device causes, based on the message, display of a second indicator on the display of the user device for a threshold amount of time, and then causes second display of the first indicator on the display of the user device.

Abstract: A network device determines radio frequency (RF) conditions at a first endpoint and a second endpoint of a call or session. The network device determines optimum first codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the first endpoint of the call or session, and determines optimum second codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the second endpoint of the call or session. The network device sends the first codec parameters to the first endpoint for altering operation of a first codec at a first device at the first endpoint. The network device sends the second codec parameters to the second endpoint for altering operation of a second codec at a second device at the second endpoint.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.
