摘要： The present disclosure relates to one or a combination of an absorbent article's chassis, inner leg cuffs, outer leg cuffs, ear panels, side panels, waistbands, and belts that may comprise one or more pluralities of tightly spaced (less than 4 mm, less than 3 mm, less than 2 mm, and less than 1 mm) and/or very fine (less than 300, less than 200, less than 100 dtex) and/or low strain (less than 300%, less than 200%, less than 100%) elastics to deliver low pressure less than 1 psi (according to the conditions defined by the Pressure-Under-Strand method below) under the elastics, while providing adequate modulus of (between about 2 gf/mm and 15 gf/mm) to make the article easy to apply and to comfortably maintain the article in place on the wearer, even with a loaded core (holding at least 50 mls of liquid), to provide for the advantages described above.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to methods for making elastomeric laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. In particular, discrete mechanical bonds are applied to a first substrate and a second substrate to secure elastic strands therebetween, wherein the discrete bonds are arranged intermittently along the machine direction. During the bonding process, heat and pressure are applied to the first substrate and the second substrate such that malleable materials of the first and second substrates deform to completely surround an outer perimeter of a discrete length of the stretched elastic strand. After removing the heat and pressure from the first and second substrates, the malleable materials harden to define a bond conforming with a cross sectional shape defined by the outer perimeter of the stretched elastic strand.

摘要： One surface of a belt-shaped sheet laminate (10) (continuous diaper strip), in which a plurality of sheets are laminated, is made to abut against a support member (21) having a light passage section (27) through which a laser beam (30) can pass, and the belt-shaped sheet laminate (10) which is in a pressurized state is irradiated, from the support member (21) side via the light passage section (27), with a laser beam (30) having a wavelength that is absorbed by the sheets constituting the sheet laminate (10) and that causes the sheets to generate heat, and thus, the belt-shaped sheet laminate (10) is cut and separated and, simultaneously, cut edge sections created, by the cutting/separation, in the plurality of sheets which are in the pressurized state are fusion-bonded together. Thus, sealed edge sections (4) (side seal sections) are formed by fusion-bonding the edge sections of the plurality of sheets in a state where the sheets' edge sections are superposed.

摘要： A method of forming an elasticised leg cuff for a wearable article is disclosed. In particular embodiments, the method includes providing a first web of material for forming at least part of an outer cover for a wearable article, the first web defining a first surface and an opposed second surface; cutting a web of leg band material to form a discrete leg band having a first, shaped outer portion and a second, inner portion; connecting the shaped outer portion of the discrete leg band to the first surface of the first web so that the inner portion of the discrete leg band extends laterally from a side edge of the first web; connecting an elastic component to the first web, adjacent the discrete leg band; and folding the inner portion of the leg band over the elastic component and connecting it to the second surface of the first web so as to cover at least a portion of the elastic component. Also disclosed is a wearable article and a outer cover for use therein that includes a first web which defines a first surface and an opposed second surface; a pair of opposed, elasticised leg cuffs, each elasticised leg cuff including a discrete leg band having a first, shaped outer portion connected to the first surface of the first web, and a second, inner portion connected to the second surface of the first web; and an elastic component connected to the first web so as to be sandwiched between the leg band and the first web.
