摘要： A reclosable pouch is provided having front and back walls and an opening along its upper edge. A first fastener profile is sealed on its ends to the exterior of the front wall of the pouch. The fastener profile extends longitudinally near the pouch opening. A second fastener profile is sealed on its ends to the exterior of the back wall of the pouch. The first and second fastener profiles each have a rib member extending longitudinally thereon and a groove for reception of the oppositely disposed rib. The fastener profiles are adapted for interlocking with the front and back walls of the pouch being interposed therebetween. A method and apparatus for manufacturing the aforesaid pouches are also described herein.

摘要： Bags in a series have first and second end portions with the bags being separated from one another except for links that connect the first end portions of the bags into a continuous chain, which is wound upon itself on a storage reel. Such winding may be in a vertical spiral fashion, or it may be by engagement by a separable continuous strip, such as a ribbon tape across the second end portions of the bags as reeled upon a core, thereby maintaining the bags in the chain substantially free from skewing relative to one another. Method and apparatus for effecting the reeling of the bag chain are also disclosed.

摘要： A process for the continuous manufacture of a closable pipe slotted in the longitudinal direction which is made from a sheet of a thermoplastic foam material involves shaping the sheet in the heated thermoelastic and/or thermoplastic state at right angles to its longitudinal direction into a pipe cross section, and applying the strips of a closure, especially a slide fastener of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, to the mutually facing longitudinal edges of the pipe slot by means of welding, heat-sealing, cementing, or the like. The closure strips, prior to being joined to the shaped, still heated foam pipe, are elongated by the effect of tensile force to the same extent as the foam pipe shrinks during cooling after application of the closure to provide a straight pipe or sheath like structure with a closure means.

The film is extruded through a T-shaped head having a thin slot die opening, and at least one fastener profile is extruded through a preform die block positioned so that the film and profile will engage and fuse to each other while the plastic is still in the state of fusion. The die block is mounted adjustably to be moved into different positions along the film head with the positions varying across the film width to control the location of the profile relative to the edges of the film or relative to other profiles on the film, with the width of the film also being controllable.

摘要： A continuous method of providing a gasket to a reclosable fastener strip having reclosable closure strips with interlocking profiles. The fastener strip is moved longitudinally, the profiles are disengaged and the closure strips are separated by approximately 90.degree. from one another. A membrane is conveyed, independently of the fastener strip, along a path that brings it parallel to one of the closure strips. Thereafter, the separated closure strips are brought back together to sandwich the membrane between their respective profiles and the profiles are re-engaged.

摘要： The invention provides tape graphics printed on a longitudinally extending strip of packaging film simultaneously with the printing of the rest of the packaging film, the tape graphics strip being subsequently slit away from the rest of the film and applied to the package as part of the sealing tape, thereby eliminating the problem of proper registration of tape graphics when the tape is applied to the package because the tape and the package film are synchronized as each package is fabricated without the accumulation of long term drift between the package film and the tape being applied to it. Since the tape graphics are printed at the same time as the package film, there is no need to have a separate preproduced inventory of customized graphics tape, and the colors of the graphics tape and the rest of the package are perfectly matched. When forming reclosable or easy-opening containers with a tack free flap without graphics, it is no longer necessary to preprocess the pressure sensitive tape to include a tack free flap because the necessary tack free flap can be formed on line with a portion of the package film which has been slit away from the package film and applied to the pressure sensitive tape. Additionally, the packaging provides a hermetic seal and can be provided with a tearstrip package openable feature that discloses whether the package has been previously opened. Moreover, there is no exposed adhesive on either surface of the composite web of packaging material, and it can either be run directly into a packaging apparatus to produce finished packages, or can be spooled for future use. When applying tearstrips to a package, or a reinforcement header strip, or a handle, it is no longer necessary to provide separate materials for the tearstrips, headers, and handles because these materials can be formed directly from the package film itself, thus no longer requiring that separate supplies of these materials be on hand.
