摘要: The amount of achromatic toner used is reduced without decreasing adhesive force. A printer apparatus derives the densities of chromatic toner corresponding to the tone values of image data in the cyan, magenta and yellow format, and derives a total density by adding up the respective densities of the chromatic toner of cyan, magenta, and yellow. Then, the apparatus compares a threshold density such as 100% or 60% with the total density of the chromatic toner of cyan, magenta, and yellow. When the total density is higher than the threshold density, the apparatus sets the density of achromatic toner to 0. When the total density of the chromatic toner of cyan, magenta, and yellow is not higher than the threshold density, the apparatus sets the density of the achromatic toner to a value acquired by subtracting the total density from the threshold density.

摘要: A method of laminating a transfer section of a transfer layer to a substrate is performed using a reverse-image transfer printing device. The device includes a transfer ribbon, a print ribbon, a print head, and a laminating device. The transfer ribbon comprises the transfer layer, which is attached to a carrier layer. The print head is configured to transfer print material from the print ribbon to the transfer layer. Non-transfer portions of the transfer section are heated to a deactivation temperature using the print head. The transfer section is laminated to the substrate by heating the non-transfer portions and transfer portions of the transfer section using the laminating device. This bonds the transfer portions the substrate. The carrier layer is the removed from the transfer portions leaving the transfer portions bonded to the substrate. The non-transfer portions remain attached to the carrier layer.

摘要: A method of transferring an image to an article is provided using a heat-transfer assembly having a support layer and an image transfer layer, wherein the image transfer layer contains a binder, ink receptor and a film-forming, hydrophilic blocking agent. When an aqueous ink composition is used to print an image on the upper surface of the transfer assembly, the blocking agent is disrupted in the imaged areas, but not the unimaged areas, such that when the image is transferred to a substrate by the application of heat and pressure, substantially all of the binder in the unimaged areas remains with the transfer assembly.

摘要: An image recording method includes recording an intermediate image by applying an ink to an intermediate transfer body, and transferring the intermediate image onto a recording medium while heating the intermediate image. The ink contains a coloring material and polymer fine particles each including a core constituted by a crystalline polymer and a shell constituted by an amorphous polymer. In transferring the intermediate image, the intermediate image is heated to a temperature equal to or higher than a melting point of the crystalline polymer constituting the core and equal to or higher than a glass transition point of the amorphous polymer constituting the shell.
