Abstract:
An improved boat hull design includes a region of ellipsiodal fullness in the forward portion of the hull, ellipsiodal curvature over the remainder of the hull, a chine with a chine flat with an increasing width as it approaches the stern and one or more strakes. One of the strakes is located where the chine flat meets the V portion of the hull. The hull provides stability and a smooth ride at both high and low speeds in smooth and rough water and is highly maneuverable. The hull also has good weight carrying ability at speed while not requiring excessive power. The hull minimizes rolling when stationary or at low speed in waves.
Abstract:
A watersports boat includes a hull having an underside defining a running surface that contacts water when the hull moves therein. An aft running surface section of the hull has (a) a trailing edge forming an aft-most point of the contact with water along any given buttock line of the hull when the hull is moving forward, (b) a non-repositionable aft running surface section forming a first portion of the trailing edge, and (c) a re-positionable aft running surface section forming a second portion of the trailing edge. The first portion of the trailing edge and second portion of the trailing edge meet substantially tangent to one another.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a sponson for a pontoon boat. The sponson has integrated chines and integrated splash guards. The sponson also includes a keel and deadrise surfaces on opposite sides of the keel. The sponson further includes an integrated keel reinforcement stringer within the sponson.
Abstract:
A boat hull configured to create a desired wake shape through a combination of two distinct hull types that interact with the water flow at specified moments. Controlled shaping of the wake shape is achieved through redirection of water flowing across the transom of the main hull, onto a secondary transom of a secondary “diffuser” suction hull that creates a negative pressure that sucks the aft portion of the boat hull into the water, thereby immersing the secondary transom into the water where it can effectively interact with the water and “carve” the desired wake shape desirable for wake surfing.
Abstract:
A hovercraft without lift fan includes: a hull; and a power device; wherein the hull includes: a main body; and two sub-bodies; wherein bottom surfaces of the sub-bodies are lower than a bottom surface of the main body, the two sub-bodies are symmetrically aligned under a front portion of the bottom surface of the main body, the two sub-bodies are provided with a distance therebetween; an outer surface of the sub-body and an outer surface of the main body form an aligned side surface or an unified side surface; the aligned side surface or the unified side surface extends towards a space under the bottom surfaces of the main body and the sub-bodies for forming a main sidewall; an inner side surface of the sub-body extends towards a space under the bottom surface of the sub-body for forming a sub-sidewall; wherein during sailing, the main sidewalls and the sub-sidewalls are partly immersed in water and respectively form three independent lifting areas having forward openings with the bottom surface of the main body and the bottom surfaces of the sub-bodies. The hovercraft doesn't utilize the lifting fan of conventional hovercrafts. However, during sailing, a high-pressure air cushion is effectively formed under the hull, in such a manner that low sail resistance, high propulsion efficiency and high speed is archived.
Abstract:
This invention is a two tunnel, four hull, trimaran-catamaran, flying boat that incorporates hydrodynamic planing surfaces with the benefit of aerodynamic lift. A boat that accommodates two people, such that, the pilot and passenger sit back to back in a low, semi-reclining position in a distinctive fuselage along the centerline, situated between and below a wing structure on either side, and thus forming the mid-structure of a trimaran. This fuselage flys in air above the water line. A streamlined canopy structure is located overhead and above the wing. The horizontal wing structure forms two tunnels below, each on either side of the centerline fuselage, providing a chamber for aerodynamic lift. Outboard of the wings are the catamaran hull arrangements with two hulls forward of amidship in parallel, followed in tandem by two hulls aft. The four hulls provide hydrodynamic lift.

Abstract:
A wakesurfing boat includes a hull. A bottom of the hull defines a W-shape in cross-section, the W-shape including a central inverted V-shaped portion. A ballast system includes a plurality of sets of ballast tanks. The boat has a plurality of modes: a cruising mode with ballast tanks empty, a first portion of the bottom in contact with the water, a stern-down trim θ1; a ballasted static mode with ballast tanks filled with ballast water, the hull displacing more water, a larger portion of the bottom in contact with the water, a bow-down trim θ2; and a dynamic surfing mode with ballast tanks filled with ballast water, an intermediate portion of the bottom in contact with the water, and an intermediate trim θ3. A wake wave, generated in the dynamic surfing mode is larger than a wake wave generated in the cruising mode.
Abstract:
A hydrofoil craft, particularly a method of economically modifying a conventional hull with cambered foils to obtain and calculate increased lift from dense spray and to achieve enhanced craft performance is disclosed. The present invention improves speed, fuel efficiency and rough water stability, reduced pitch and vertical accelerations. A catamaran or V-bottom hull is modified with chine mounted airfoils, flexible dihedral cambered foils positioned beneath the water line and on either side of the bow so as to create turbulence in the forward end of a tunnel(s). Tunnels are created on the V-bottom hull by the chine mounted airfoils. Fixed forward tunnel cambered foil(s) and/or fixed or adjustable center tunnel cambered foils at the stern end of the tunnel to generate lift from pressure caused by dense spray in the tunnel(s) may also be provided. Adjustable cambered stern foils are mounted on the transom end of the tunnels.
Abstract:
In one example, a paddleboard includes a body defining a fin housing within which a fin is partially received. The fin is configured to reside in the fin housing in either of a first operating position or a second operating position, where the second operating position is different from the first operating position. Finally, a fin retention element is provided that is configured to releasably secure the fin to the body.
