    摘要: An alkali metal ion source with a moderate rate of release of the ion (e.g. potassium) is formed by a method that includes: 1) combining an particulate ore that contains at least one of an alkali metal ion-bearing framework silicate (e.g. syenite ore) with at least one of an oxide and hydroxide of at least one of an alkali metal and alkaline earth metal such as calcium hydroxide; 2) milling the mixture of these two components optionally, with water, optionally, milling the dry components separately and blended thereafter, optionally, with water; 3) forming a mixture by adding water to the solid mixture after milling, if water was not added before milling; 4) exposing the mixture to an elevated temperature and pressure to form a gel that includes silica and the alkali metal of the framework silicate.

    摘要: A process for producing polyurethane coated fertilizer granules having core granules in a rotating drum, wherein the drum has an inlet and an outlet and n application zones arranged along the longitudinal direction of the drum between the inlet and the outlet, n being an integer of at least 2 and wherein each of the application zones is followed by a curing zone. The curing zone after each application zone is arranged to allow an interval of 2-15 minutes, preferably 3-5 minutes, before the application in the successive application zone, wherein the polyol and the isocyanate are applied in the first application zone at a ratio of 0.5-4 wt %, preferably 1-3 wt % of the core granules. The process has the steps of: A) continuously feeding the core granules to the inlet of the rotating drum, thereby providing a flow of the core granules in the direction from the inlet to the outlet, B1) applying a polyol and an isocyanate to the core granules in each of the n application zones, the ratio of hydroxyl groups in the polyol to NCO groups in the isocyanate at the end of each of the application zones being in the range from about 0.9 to about 1.3, B2) reacting the polyol and the isocyanate to form a tack-free polyurethane layer in each of the n curing zones and C) continuously collecting the polyurethane coated fertilizer granules from the outlet.

    摘要: An environment is moderated in an area where animal wastes are collected in a fluid containing compartment. Animal wastes are collected in a fluid containing compartment. The animal wastes are of the type that generate or provide in or above the fluid containing compartment at least one waste selected from the group consisting of carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, mercaptans and organic acids. A combination is provided of i) a polymer capable of absorbing at least ten times its weight in water (preferably a superpolymer) and ii) a combination of salts that react to liberate I2. At least one waste is flocculated with liberated I2 (and any cations from the reactive salts) to form a flocculent that has reduced odor and reduced microbial content. The flocculent may be used as a fertilizer.

    摘要: An agricultural fertigation method includes the in situ manufacture of one or more fertilizers within the irrigation upstream of the agricultural field being irrigated. Co-reactant raw materials, namely sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, potassium hydroxide, urea, ammonium hydroxide, ammonia, calcium nitrate and/or magnesium nitrate, are intermixed with each other and with the stream of the flowing irrigation water. The stream of flowing irrigation water dampens the resultant dissolution and reaction exotherms. A system wherein raw materials are efficiently fed to the irrigation system main line or a side-arm reactor efficiently implements the method.
