    摘要: According to the present invention, a low-calorie healthy food product rich in dietary fiber can be provided by using denatured glucomannan in producing food products, or by using denatured glucomannan to form a heat irreversible gelatinized food product, under a wide range of alkaline or acidic conditions. The present invention is a denatured glucomannan formed by isolating and the acetyl group of konjac-glucomannan by an alkali process to suppress swelling, whereupon the denatured glucomannan may then adjusted to be gelled or heated and gelled after being swollen by removing the swelling suppression using a high pH ingredient. Both the denatured glucomannan in addition to any gelatinized product or other food product formed from the denatured glucomannan may be dehydrated, frozen, or dried.

    摘要: Described herein are hemi-aminal ethers and thioethers of N-alkenyl cyclic compounds that may be produced through a reaction comprising: (A) at least one first reactant represented by a structure (I), wherein X is a functionalized or unfunctionalized C1-C5 alkylene group optionally having one or more heteroatoms, and each R1, R2, and R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and functionalized and unfunctionalized alkyl groups optionally having one or more heteroatoms, and (B) at least one second reactant having at least one hydroxyl moiety or thiol moiety. The hemi-aminal ethers and thioethers of N-alkenyl cyclic compounds may comprise a polymerizable moiety, in which case they may be left as-is or used to create homopolymers or non-homopolymers, or they may not comprise a polymerizable moiety. A wide variety of formulations may be created using the hemi-aminal ethers and thioethers of N-alkenyl cyclic compounds, including personal care, oilfield, and construction formulations.

    摘要: Water-soluble konjac mannan capable of undergoing gelation when heated in an aqueous alkaline solution is obtained by extracting the ground tuber of the konjac plant with water, separating insoluble matter, dialyzing the solids-free liquid against water and then lyophilizing the dialyzed liquid to remove water. This konjac mannan extract has utility for alleviating constipation and reducing weight.
