Abstract: A thermoplastic laminate plank is described wherein the thermoplastic laminate plank comprises a core, a print layer, and optionally an overlay. The core comprises at least one thermoplastic material and has a top surface and bottom surface wherein a print layer is affixed to the top surface of the core and an overlay layer is affixed to the top surface of the print layer. Optionally, an underlay layer can be located and affixed between the bottom surface of the print layer and the top surface of the core. In addition, a method of making the thermoplastic laminate plank is further described which involves extruding at least one thermoplastic material into the shape of the core and affixing a laminate on the core, wherein the laminate comprises an overlay affixed to the top surface of the print layer and optionally an underlay layer affixed to the bottom surface of the print layer.

Abstract: A thermoplastic laminate plank is described wherein the thermoplastic laminate plank comprises a core, a print layer, and optionally an overlay. The core comprises at least one thermoplastic material and has a top surface and bottom surface wherein a print layer is affixed to, the top surface of the core and an overlay layer is affixed to the top surface of the print layer. Optionally, an underlay layer can be located and affixed between the bottom surface of the print layer and the top surface of the core. In addition, a method of making the thermoplastic laminate plank is further described which involves extruding at least one thermoplastic material into the shape of the core and affixing a laminate on the core, wherein the laminate comprises an overlay affixed to the top surface of the print layer and optionally an underlay layer affixed to the bottom surface of the print layer.

Abstract: A fastening system (10) for fastening planar sections (11, 12) such as flooring boards to a base surface (14) comprising a fastening strip (13) that interlockingly engages in a set of grooves (30) cut in the ends of the boards (11, 12). The fastening strip (13) is mounted on a resilient layer of material (28) that is interposed between the fastening strip (13) and the base surface (14). The layer of resilient material (28) allows the flooring boards (11, 12) and the fastening strip (13) to move in response to loading on the flooring boards (11, 12). Fastening members (15) that accommodate the movement without becoming loosened attach the fastening strips (13) to the base surface (14).

Abstract: A facing material for a building is disclosed which is capable of effectively and readily carrying out the lateral connection between facing materials as well as the vertical connection. The facing material comprises a flat plate body which is formed at both side ends thereof with a side fit-in section and a side fit-on section which are adapted to be readily securely fitted with respect to the side fit-on section of a first laterally adjacent facing material and the side fit-on section of a second laterally adjacent facing material opposite to the first one. Also, a method for vertically and laterally connecting facing materials together is disclosed which is capable of readily forming an outer face of a wall or a roof of a building.

Abstract: A flooring system includes a plurality of individual flooring pieces, such as floor panels, each having a wear surface, an opposing mounting surface and a retention groove disposed within the mounting surface. A floor panel connector used to interconnect at least two of the floor panels has a base, at least one mast extending from an upper surface of the base and a pair of flexible arms. Each flexible arm extends transversely from opposing sides of the at least one mast and has an extending end. Contacting portions extending from a lower surface of the base are configured to engage the support surface and create a spacing between each flexible arm and the support surface to permit each flexible arm to elastically deflect toward the support surface when pressure is exerted on a floor panel. This deflection enables the extending end of each flexible arm to engage the retention groove of a corresponding floor panel.
