摘要: An electronic device may comprise audio processing circuitry, pace tracking circuitry, and positioning circuitry. The pace tracking circuitry may be operable to selects songs to be processed for playback, and/or control time stretching applied to such songs, by the audio processing circuitry based on position data generated by the positioning circuitry, a desired tempo, and whether the songs are stored locally or network-accessible. The position data may indicate the pace of a runner during a preceding, determined time interval. The pace tracking circuitry may control the song selection and/or time stretching based on a runner profile data stored in memory of the music device. The profile data may include runner's distance-per-stride data. The electronic device may include sensors operable to function as a pedometer. The pace tracking circuitry may update the distance-per-stride data based on the position data and based on data output by the one or more sensors.

摘要: A sensor processing unit comprises a microphone and a sensor processor. The sensor processor is coupled with the microphone. The sensor processor is configured to operate the microphone to capture an audio sample from an environment in which the microphone is disposed. The sensor processor is configured to perform music activity detection on the audio sample to detect for music within the audio sample. Responsive to detection of music within the audio sample, the sensor processor is configured to send a music detection signal to an external processor located external to the sensor processing unit, the music detection signal indicating that music has been detected in the environment.

摘要: A portable amplification unit that is integrated directly into the body of an electric instrument, thus eliminating external cables and devices. The portable amplification unit includes an amplifier cartridge that houses an amplification assembly. The amplification cartridge is attached to, and electrically connected to, an instrument through a cartridge receiver. A pre-amplifier assembly of the amplification assembly provides a first stage of amplification, while a power amplifier circuit provides a second stage of amplification. A power supply provides current to amplify the electrical signal of the instrument. A pre-amp control and a master volume control allow for adjusting the magnitude of amplification. A speaker is also integrated into the amplifier cartridge; the speaker being electrically connected to the power amplifier circuit.

Some embodiments include novel techniques for controlling, synthesizing, and rendering VM instruments having complex particle system architectures. Some embodiments further provide VM compositional techniques built on four-dimensional modeling constructs that include path-adaptive coordinate systems that define a compositional space-time for modeling, and path-anchored object locators that place objects in the compositional space-time.

摘要: A universal effects carrier for use with electric instruments that allows for reduced or eliminated signal loss before the electronic signal of the instrument is passed through an effects pedal. A mounting cartridge includes a first receiving slot and a second receiving slot for retaining a primary effects pedal and a secondary effects pedal; the primary effects pedal and the secondary effects pedal being electrically connected to a signal-in port and a signal-out port via a signal-in pedal connector and a signal-out pedal connector. The primary effects pedal and the secondary effects pedal are further electrically connected by a bridge cable. The mounting cartridge is attached to an electric instrument through a cartridge receiver; the cartridge receiver including a signal-in terminal to be electrically connected to the signal-in port and a signal-out terminal to be electrically connected to the signal-out port.

摘要: Devices and methods for controlling an electronic system are provided. An embodiment of a device comprises a spring having a first end with a first handle and a second end with a second handle. A first sensor detects movement of the first end and a second sensor detects movement of the second end. Each sensor provides a control signal to the electronic system such that the electronic system can act according to the varying control signals. A method comprises providing a spring-based musical instrument and providing a computer having a speaker. The spring is altered by the musician in order to generate control signals to the computer. Sound is generated by the speaker and varied by the computer according to the received control signals.
