    摘要: A remote-control, foot-operated unit for use with trolling motors on boats is revealed. The unit has a snap-together design that does not use screw fasteners extending through holes. As a result, the sensitive electronic components are completely sealed from contact with any water or water vapor. The snap design has a back-up feature to prevent accidental snap-release in the event of shock loading. The assembly fits together as a sandwich, effectively positioning a sealing component in juxtaposition with the snap arrangements to promote a secure connection around the periphery of the unit, as well as a tight sealing engagement between the sandwich components to, in effect, isolate the sensitive electronic components from exposure to any moisture.

    摘要: A footswitch for ophthalmic surgery includes a rotatable foot pedal, a spring member which biases the foot pedal to resist rotation and an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the bias of the spring member to a surgeon selected value. In an illustrated embodiment, the adjustment mechanism includes a worm screw gear assembly which is used to vary the amount of torque generated by a coil spring on a shaft upon which a pedal is mounted. As a worm gear is rotated by a thumb wheel, a spur gear is rotated to wind or unwind coil spring thereby increasing or decreasing the amount of tension exerted by coil spring on a shaft.

    摘要: A tongue activated communications controller for use by disabled or other persons to control a wide variety of devices, and which includes a dental appliance fitted to the user's palate, and a keyboard with a plurality of tongue activatable switches for generating a signal depending upon which switch has been selected, and upon the status of a battery voltage level. The communications controller includes a radio frequency transmitter which uses magnetic flux linkage for transmitting the signal. The communications controller further includes a receiver for converting the transmitted signal into digital form, and also includes a micro-processor based controller unit for processing the received data, and for communicating with the attached devices which the user wishes to control. Data is sent from the transmitter using a fixed transmission time, digital pulse code modulation technique to achieve ultra low power consumption in the transmitter. The controller unit processes the encoded data signal from the receiver by measuring and storing the intervals between level transitions, and then by processing these intervals in non-real time.

    摘要: A mechanism (10) for actuating an electric circuit is shown including a switch box (11) fastened to a housing (26) to which a cover (60) is movably mounted. The threaded stems (54) of four de-energizing momentary switches (52) extend through and are held to the front wall (32) of the housing (26). The cover (60) includes a sleeve extending rearwardly of its broad surface front wall (62) and slideably received in a tubular extension (46) of the housing (26). A flange (72) on the sleeve abuts with ledges (50) formed in the tubular extension (46) to prevent movement therebeyond. The cover (60) can be pushed against the bias of coil springs (74) arranged concentrically around the stems (54) such that any point of the broad surface front wall (62) can be moved in an actuation direction to slide the actuating pins (58) slideable in the stems (54) of one or more of the de-energizing switches (52) to de-energize the electric circuit. The electric circuit is energized by actuating an energizing momentary switch (18) mounted to the switch box (11).

    摘要: A keyswitch assembly for a keyboard for a word processor or a computer comprises a key, a key support mechanism supporting the key formed by pivotally joining two support levers in a scissors-like form, a rubber spring disposed under the key support mechanism, and a support plate supporting the key support mechanism, the rubber spring and a printed wiring board on its surface. The key support mechanism is connected to the key and the support plate by slidably fitting pivots formed on the upper ends of the support levers in the slots of guiding parts formed on the lower surface of the key and slidably fitting pivots formed on the lower ends of the support levers in slots formed by raising portions of the support plate. The omission of a base plate, which is an essential component of a prior art keyswitch assembly, reduces the number of parts and the manufacturing cost and simplifies the construction of the keyswitch assembly.
