    摘要: A user, touch actuable switch panel of the capacitive type that includes one or more touch actuable capacitive switches, each switch including at least two capacitive plate elements formed on a dielectric panel. Conductive paths formed on the dielectric panel interconnect the capacitive plate elements to a source for applying signals to the capacitive plate elements forming said capacitive switches and sensing a resulting change in signal level when a selected switch is actuated by the user. Trim tabs formed on the dielectric panel are provided to balance the effect of stray capacitance between the conductive paths and the capacitive plate elements to maintain the level of change of signal at a determined value upon the actuation of each of said one or more capacitive switches.

A magnetizable disk is attached to the exterior of the panel, with the control knob having a magnetized member attracted to the disk for maintaining the control knob in proper position while allowing control knob rotational adjustments. A light-emitting display is positioned behind the panel to indicate the index of the control knob by means of a variable-length, circular bar of light.

A current-to-voltage converter receives two input signals from the capacitive transducer structure, and outputs two output signals to gain stage circuits, and to a reference voltage generator. The gain stages generate from the output voltage signals a differential output signal. The reference voltage generates from the output signals a common mode output signal. The processing circuit generates a digital signal that corresponds to a quotient of the differential output signal and the common mode output signal.

    摘要: A capacitive position sensor for detecting the position of an object relative to a resistive sensing element. The sensing element comprises a sensing path that has terminals connected along it that subdivide the sensing path into multiple sections. Each terminal is coupled to its own sensing channel, each of which generates a signal that is sensitive to the capacitance between its terminal and a system ground. The signals are fed to a processor for analysis. The processor determines over which section the object is positioned by comparing the signals from the sensing channels, and determines the position of the object within that section by comparing the signals from the terminals spanning that section. The sensing path can be formed in a closed loop, such as a circle for a scroll dial, in which the operator's finger position and movement can be uniquely determined in a straightforward manner.

    摘要: The invention relates to an input unit for electrotechnical devices, the unit being configured such that it is technically particularly effective, yet still cost-effective. Further, it is the aim to also provide illumination elements at little expense. For touching by finger, such an input unit comprises a cover suitable for capacitive field transmissions, the cover having a contact region that can be used for touching more than a single location. A sensor film is disposed directly beneath the cover, wherein the film has a resistance structure on the side facing the cover, the structure being electrically contacted via three contact points. The resistance structure is configured such that it continually, or at least quasi continually, capacitively responds as a function of the current location of touch of the cover by a human finger and sets a corresponding resistance variable, which can be tapped at the three contact points and used to generate a respectively associated input signal for the electrotechnical device for the corresponding control thereof.
