Abstract: A method and apparatus for receiving broadcast signals are discussed. The method includes receiving the broadcast signals; demodulating the received broadcast signals by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) scheme; obtaining broadcast data from a signal frame in the demodulated broadcast signals, wherein the broadcast data includes video data or audio data, and the broadcast data is carried by only a Data Pipe (DP); decoding the broadcast data; and output-processing the decoded broadcast data to output a data packet, wherein the data packet includes a Transport Stream (TS) packet, wherein a header of the data packet includes first information indicating whether a header deletion is performed in the TS packet, wherein the header of the data packet further includes second information indicating whether a null packet deletion is performed, and wherein when the second information is not a zero value, the null packet is deleted prior to the data packet.

Abstract: A distributed radio frequency communication system facilitates communication between a wireless terminal and a core network. The system includes a remote radio unit (RRU) coupled to at least one antenna to communicate with the wireless terminal. The RRU includes electronic circuitry to perform at least a first portion of a first-level protocol of a radio access network (RAN) for communicating between the wireless terminal and the core network. The system also includes a baseband unit (BBU) coupled to the core network, and configured to perform at least a second-level protocol of the RAN. A fronthaul link is coupled to the BBU and the RRU. The fronthaul link utilizes an adaptive fronthaul protocol for communication between the BBU and the RRU. The adaptive fronthaul protocol has provisions for adapting to conditions of the fronthaul link and radio network by changing the way data is communicated over the fronthaul link.

Abstract: A method performed in a base station includes the base station determining a level of interference in a channel between the base station and the wireless communication device based on a signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) in the channel. The base station determines, in accordance with the determined interference, whether to use a predetermined power level to transmit a message to the wireless communication device. In response to determining to use the predetermined power level, the base station further determines whether the wireless communication device requires downlink signal radio bearer (SRB) assignments. In response to determining that the wireless communication device requires the downlink signal radio bearer assignments, the base station transmits the message to the wireless communication device using a downlink control information (DCI) message format having a same size as a message format used for uplink messages.

Abstract: A 10GBASE-T circuit is disclosed. The circuit includes a physical (PHY) integrated circuit and a media access control (MAC) integrated circuit. The PHY couples to a data transfer medium and carries out data transfers at a PHY data rate. The MAC integrated circuit controls access to the date transfer medium and couples to the PHY via a bidirectional link operating at a MAC data rate. Rate control logic detects the PHY data rate, and adjusts the MAC data rate to the PHY data rate. Changes to the PHY and MAC data rates may be made at rates higher than 1 Gbps.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method is disclosed for multiband wireless communication. Frequency bands and/or transmission formats are identified as available within a range for wireless communication. The system evaluates signal quality metrics for each frequency band and selects a communication method based on the evaluation. Multiple frequency bands and communication methods can be utilized by the system such that a combination of licensed, unlicensed, semilicensed, and overlapped frequency bands can be simultaneously used for communication. Abstract: Techniques for efficiently sending reports in a wireless communication system are described. Reports may be sent repetitively in accordance with a reporting format. A terminal receives an assignment of a control channel used to send reports and determines a reporting format to use based on the assignment. The reporting format indicates a specific sequence of reports sent in specific locations of a control channel frame. The terminal generates a set of reports for each reporting interval and arranges the set of reports in accordance with the reporting format. The terminal repetitively sends a plurality of sets of reports in a plurality of reporting intervals. Reports may also be sent adaptively based on operating conditions. An appropriate reporting format may be selected based on the operating conditions of the terminal, which may be characterized by environment (e.g., mobility), capabilities, QoS, and/or other factors.
