摘要: Disclosed is a pneumatic tire including a plurality of land portions and a plurality of fine grooves. The plurality of land portions are formed of blocks and a rib, and are defined in a tread part of the pneumatic tire. The fine grooves with a depth of 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm, a width of 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm and a pitch of 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm are formed in the tread surface of each of the land portions to be inclined at an angle of 42° to relative to the circumferential direction of the tire. The inclined directions of the fine grooves relative to the circumferential direction of the tire are reverse to each other on the left and right sides of the equator of the tire.

摘要: A pneumatic tire comprises: a tread portion provided with an asymmetric block pattern and having an inside tread edge and an outside tread edge to be placed on the inside and outside of a vehicle, respectively; outside lateral grooves extending from the outside tread edge to a tread center region, each having a groove center line X0 inclined towards one direction with respect to the tire circumferential direction at an angle &thgr;0 of from 40 to 60 degrees with respect to the tire circumferential direction; inside lateral grooves extending from the inside tread edge to the tread center region, each having a groove center line X5 inclined at an angle &thgr;5 of from 70 to 100 degrees with respect to the tire circumferential direction; each portion between the circumferentially adjacent outside lateral grooves being divided into outside blocks by first to fourth outside connecting grooves extending thereacross; the first outside connecting groove having a first groove center line X1, the second outside connecting groove having a second groove center line X2, the third outside connecting groove having a third groove center line X3, the fourth outside connecting groove having a fourth groove center line X4, and the first to fourth groove center lines X1 to X4 inclined reversely to the groove center lines X0 of the outside lateral grooves with respect to the tire circumferential direction, and the inclination angles &thgr;1 to &thgr;4 of the first to fourth groove center lines X1 to X4 with respect to the tire circumferential direction being in a range of from 20 to 50 degrees and being different from each other.

摘要: A pneumatic tire in which a sipe, which is substantially parallel to a contour line of a trailing edge of a ground-contact configuration, is formed in a trailing edge region of each block at shoulder sides of the pneumatic tire. From a time of step-in to a time of kick-out of a block, the effect of shearing strain which is transmitted to a trailing edge from a preceding trailing edge portion is mitigated, and movement of the trailing edge of the block with respect to a road surface is suppressed. Accordingly, wear at the trailing edge of the block, i.e., heel-and-toe wear, is suppressed, and noise caused by heel-and-toe wear is reduced.

摘要: A high efficiency all terrain bicycle or motorcycle tire having a tread design in which spaced tread blocks are arranged in circumferential rows and overlapped to allow a smooth shift in load from one tread block to another in different circumferential rows with a minimum of casing hysteresis and at the same time provide a low rotating mass, low rolling resistance, high cornering adhesion with high consistency across differing types of ground conditions, high motive and stopping traction. The tread blocks in the different rows have shapes, spacings and orientations which createa plurality of tortous paths for flow of material without excessive constricting of flow in any one spot.

摘要: An asymmetric directional tread for a tire is disclosed. The tread has a plurality of ground engaging tread elements separated by grooves. The grooves include one wide circumferentially continuous groove having a width W, a plurality of circumferentially continuous grooves of an intermediate width between greater than 1/3 and 3/4W, at least one narrow circumferentially continuous groove having a width 1/10 to less than 1/3W located between a lateral edge and a circumferentially continuous groove of a greater width, and first and second sets of laterally extending grooves. The first set extends from the outboard lateral edges to an end location within 5% of the tread width from the equatorial plane. The second set extends from the inboard lateral edge to an end location within 5% of the tread width from the equatorial plane.

摘要: The tread design of a radial pneumatic tire for ground vehicles is characterized by lateral or transverse grooves on the shoulder ribs having an incline from the normal to the contact surface in one direction and the lateral or transverse grooves in the center of the tread width being inclined in the reverse direction. Improved wear rates with uniform wear is obtained on a drive axle with proper tire rotation. A reversed direction of rotation on the non-drive axle results in more even wear with potentially less vibration and noise.Lateral grooves are inclined form approximately 20 to 30 degrees and leading edges of some tread blocks have acute angles while other tread blocks have trailing edges with acute angles. The resultant distribution of longitudinal tangential stress on tread blocks is improved.

摘要: The present invention relates to a radial tire and a radial tire-rim assembly. The radial tire (1) has a pair of beads (2), each bead having a bead core (3) and a bead apex (5), a carcass (4), with both edges thereof folded back around said bead core and fastened to said bead core, a tread (6), a belt layer (7), and an aspect ratio smaller than 60%. The tread is wider (in the axial direction) than the maximum width of said carcass and the edges of said tread are positioned within a range of 50-100% of the height of the cross-section of the carcass. This structure provides the tire side with rigidity and permits the tread to deform so that is supports the weight of the car and runs safely even when the tire pressure is decreased. The radial tire-rim assembly is characterized in that the bead of the radial tire has a toe (9) extending inward (in the radial direction of the tire) and is further provided with a hump groove (10) corresponding paramently,, the rim (20 ) has an annular groove (22) and hump (23) which fit into the toe and groove, respectively. These arrangements prevent the bead from separating from the rim when the tire pressure is decreased or at a time of sharp cornering.

The difference derives from an asymmetrical configuration of the tread. The tread is provided with a plurality of circumferential ribs that define circumferential grooves therebetween, the ribs having walls on one side that define a relatively flat continuous surface facing in one axial direction to provide a relatively rigid rib edge and on the side that faces in the opposite axial direction, an irregular configuration to provide a rib edge of less rigidity.
