The cooperating clutch part may be mounted on the power driver housing for movement between a first axial position in which the chuck body is rotatable together with the sleeve, and a second axial position in which the chuck body is rotatable relative to the sleeve to actuate the tool chuck. The chuck body may be rotatable in a first direction to actuate the tool chuck up to a first torque threshold, and rotatable in a second direction to actuate the tool chuck up to a second, different torque threshold.

    摘要: A drill chuck has a chuck body, a holder body, and an outer sleeve surrounding the bodies, with jaws between them. A ring of teeth on one of the bodies can be engaged by a pawl angularly fixed on the other of the bodies. When engaged, the pawl and the array of teeth allow rotate relative to the chuck body in a tightening direction but not in a loosening direction. Respective interengaging stops on the other body and on the outer sleeve limit relative angular movement of the outer sleeve on the other body between a pair of angularly offset end positions. An inner control sleeve has a cam formation engageable with the pawl in only one of the end positions to hold the pawl in the freeing position. The pawl is biased by a spring in the other end position into the locking position.

A universal joint comprises a cavity formed in a joint case, a planar plate fitted in the cavity, a spherical member arranged in the cavity so that it is held by a spherical surface receiving seat and a portion of the planar plate, and pressure means for pressing the planar plate toward the spherical surface receiving seat.

Respective jaws displaceable in the grooves each have at least one tooth exposed in the respective guide passage and respective control rods displaceable along the passages each have at least one tooth meshing with the tooth of the respective jaw. A control pin is axially displaceable in each rod between an extended position projecting into the respective jaw-guide groove and a retracted position. The control pins are displaced on engagement with the teeth of the respective jaws into the retracted positions. A latch pin is axially displaceable in each rod between an extended latching position engaging the respective abutment and preventing movement of the respective rod in the respective passage and a retracted position permitting such movement. A spring urges the pins into their extended positions, and a coupling member engaged between the pins displaces the respective latch pin into the respective retracted position on displacement of the control pin into its retracted position. Thus, when there is no jaw in the guide groove, the latch pin of the respective control rod latches same against movement in the respective passage.
