    摘要: A hub (2) includes a spindle (14) which projects through a housing (4) and rotates relative to the housing (4) on a bearing (6) that is located between the spindle (14) and the housing (4). But once the housing (4) and races (26) are in a position around the spindle (14), the projecting end portion of the spindle (14) is deformed radially and axially in a rotary forming operation such that it transforms into a formed end (20) that lies behind back face (32) of the race (26). During the rotary forming operation the hub (26) rotates, and the end of its spindle (14) is forced against a rotating forming tool and the force is monitored. The housing (4) is restrained and the torque transferred from the rotating hub (2) to the housing (4) is monitored.

The tool is designed to rotatably secure a worn or defective treadle valve side by side with a rotatably secured replacement treadle valve. The treadle valves can be rotated and locked into place to present corresponding faces to the user. The tool and method allows the user to measure the orientation or alignment of threaded fittings on the worn or defective treadle valve, remove them and then install them or their replacement fittings on the replacement treadle valve in the same general orientation or alignment as the fittings had on the worn or defective treadle valve. The tool and method ensures that when the replacement treadle valve is reinstalled on the vehicle, the threaded couplings on the ends of lengths of tubing will align with the fittings installed on the replacement treadle valve.

An oversize bushing is installed in the oversize hole having an inner diameter suitable to accommodate a brake cam shaft or anchor pin therethrough. An apparatus is also provided.

    摘要: The stud replacement kit of the present invention operates by supplying force to the inside portion of a damaged stud and pushing that stud forward and out of the wheel. The kit of the present invention comprises a pressure tool that supplies force to a stud. This pressure tool fit around the wheel and damaged stud; and a spacer that fit between the front of the wheel and the pressure tool. This spacer serves primarily to catch the stud once removed. In operation, the broken or damaged stud is removed by placing the placing the pressure tool and spacer around the stud to be replaced. A stud screw mechanism in the pressure tool is rotated to cause the tool to apply force to the stud primarily on the backside of the wheel. This force is increased until it overcomes the force that holds the stud in the wheel. At this point, the force of the pressure tool on the stud causes the stud to move in the desired direction for removal.

    摘要: A system for making and breaking connections between the pin ends of sucker rods and coupling sleeves employs a hydraulically powered system of radially driven gripper heads which are interchangeable to accept different sucker rod sizes. A torqueing system adjacent the gripper head system is also hydraulically driven, employing a pivotally coupled free end on a torque wrench which engages the wrench flat on the sucker rod at its opposite end. The coupling is securely retained without marring the coupling surface while the torque necessary to make or break the connection is applied rapidly and controllably. The system can also be used to advantage in preassemble sucker rods into couplings with precise prestress, using an improved connection design. A sucker rod string can then be assembled readily in the field with invariant optimum prestress conditions at each connection.
