    摘要: A method of and apparatus for bending a sheet of material heated to a formable, state such as glass, resinous polymeric material, viscoelastic material, and thermoplastic material, provides an improved pressing member for pressing the heated sheet against a first rigid mold which reduces the size of the buckles in the bent sheet, eliminates the need for a second rigid mold, reduces the process control steps, reduces the risk of damaging the rigid mold, increases the tolerances for the positioning of the sheet in the apparatus, and increases the range of application. The pressing member includes a flexible diaphragm which rolls the heated sheet against a rigid mold by first applying a pressure to a portion of the heated sheet and then radiating the pressure from that portion to the remaining surface area of the heated sheet in a rolling action. The bending apparatus includes a rigid mold and a flexible diaphragm pressurized into a convex shape for initially pressing on a portion of the heated sheet. A control system moves the pressing member toward the rigid mold and maintains the pressure on the flexible diaphragm so that as the pressing member is moved toward the rigid mold, the flexible member generally conforms to the shape of the rigid mold and rolls the heated sheet onto the rigid mold. To further reduce the size of any buckles, a holder for supporting the heated sheet between the rigid mold and the flexible diaphragm is provided. The holder includes a support surface for supporting the heated sheet generally planar before bending.

    摘要: For tempering by contact of a glass sheet having a through hole, cooled clamping pieces coated with thermoresistant fibers having a high thermal conductivity act on the surfaces of the glass sheet heated to the tempering temperature. During the action of the clamping plates, the inner surfaces of the glass sheet defining the hole are struck by a cooling gas. The cooling gas is injected by a jet or nozzle tube located in a clamping plate within a bore, which passes coaxially through the air-permeable covering fabric and, after having been whirled up within the hole, escapes through the fabric via a backflow pipe surrounding the jet or nozzle tube.

The lower frame mold is mounted horizontally traversable and serves at the same time as a support ring for transferring the bent glass pane into a cooling station. The frame-shaped mold is provided with an electrical heating resistor. In addition, a temperature sensor is disposed in the frame-shaped mold. The temperature of the frame-shaped mold can be regulated to a predetermined temperature by way of a power regulator, which is governed by the temperature sensor.

    摘要: An apparatus for supporting a glass sheet during a tempering process is provided in which a truss ring structure having a hot/cold ring and a plurality of shaped fingers having converging diagonal sides extending from the hot/cold ring supports the glass sheet. The apparatus further includes cushioning means which may include at least one layer of a composite mesh cloth, a fiberglass tube, or both. In a preferred arrangement, the composite mesh cloth is folded around the fiberglass tube and the shaped fingers to provide optimum cushion and quench air flow to the glass.

    摘要: An installation for the heating, forming and tempering of glass sheets (8) comprises a furnace (1) for heating glass sheets, at least one forming chamber (4), called a standard forming chamber, and a chamber for tempering the glass sheets, and a series of parallel rotary rollers for supporting the glass sheets and for moving them in the furnace (1) and towards the chambers. The installation further comprises at least one second forming chamber (5), called a deep-forming chamber, in which the forming of the glass sheets is carried out by pressing these on a convex lower surface. Between the furnace (1) and the forming chambers (4, 5) there is provided a turnover chamber (3) comprising a table rotatably mounted for turning over the glass sheets (8) before they are introduced into the second forming chamber (5). The invention is used especially in the production of glazings for motor vehicles.
