The spring assembly in formed with a smaller diameter annular spring member and a larger diameter annular spring member arranged coaxially relative to each other and relative to the valve seat ring with the valve seat ring being attached with an outer edge of the smaller diameter spring member and the inner edge of the larger diameter spring member. The spring assembly is supported in the housing at an inner edge of the smaller diameter spring member and at an outer edge of the larger diameter spring member.

摘要： Sealing means for a flat gate valve comprising one-piece seat rings on both sides of the gate. A resilient O-ring is loosely received in an annular groove in the leading face of each seat ring and the leading faces of the seat rings, radially outward of the annular groove are relieved to provide small clearances with the sides of the gate. A series of vent ducts are provided in the seat ring at the bottom thereof from the bottom of the O-ring groove to the valve body space radially outward of the seat ring.

摘要： A floating seat ring for a gate valve structure has an external pressure source to move the seat ring into engagement with the gate valve. A pocket for the seat ring is formed by a counterbore in the valve body and a tubular insert is inserted within the valve body bore extending within the seat ring. This inner end portion of the tubular insert defines with the counterbore the pocket for the seat ring for floating back and forth movement. An external pressure source is in fluid communication with the pocket behind the seat ring to move the seat ring outwardly.

摘要： The pressure exerted by an elongated rectangular gland packing on an associated flat slide valve within a valve housing is adjusted by means of an elongated adjustment member disposed within said housing adjacent the face of the packing remote from the slide valve. The adjustment member includes a plurality of parallel, inclined slots respectively having fixed support rods extending therethrough. When the adjustment member is moved in the direction of its elongation by manipulation of an actuator from the exterior of the housing, the rods and inclined slots also cause the adjustment member to move in a transverse direction toward and away from the packing.

摘要： A valve seat - to - body connection, and an installation therefor. A resilient metallic ring having an inside diameter slightly smaller than the outside diameter of a valve body in which the seat member is to be installed, is placed around the section of the seat member. When the seat member is then inserted in the body, it provides initial sealing pressures, but is still readily detachable. Apparatus is provided for injecting a material of plastic consistency or the like into the area surrounding the metallic ring, which deforms the ring into fluid tight engagement with the seat member and the body. Additional seals may also be provided associated with the seat member.
