摘要: A condensate removal device which includes two parallel paths for removal of condensate and gases from a fluid system is provided with a thermostatically operated valve in one path and a drain orifice of a preselected size in the other path. The combination is disclosed as it is used in drain lines of a steam system. A bellows or other thermostatically operated valve controls one path to the drain and is in the open position during warmup of the system to permit the passage of the large quantities of air, condensate, particulates and other matter which are present in the system during the warmup stage of operation. The thermostatic element is designed to be closed at operating temperatures. The drain orifice in the other path is designed to continuously pass the condensate and the like which will form in the line when the system is at or near operating temperatures while restricting the passage of working vapor.

摘要: A system for receiving effluent from an apparatus, for example, a sterilizer, sterilizer unit or sterilizer system, or other device(s), that initially determines the temperature of the effluent. If the effluent temperature is such that the effluent is “hot”, the effluent it is not suitable for reuse, and the effluent is sent to be tempered, such that it cold enough to be released into a drain, whereby it will not damage the drain. If the effluent temperature is such that the effluent is “cold”, the effluent is suitable for reuse and therefore, will be recirculated to the device. The effluent moves into a holding tank, where it combines with water, and is pumped to the apparatus.

摘要: A condensate trap assembly 12 includes a valve body 28 accommodating a condensate trap element 34 and a valve element 36. The valve element 36 is movable by a positioner 26 to direct flow in a condensate line 10 either through the condensate trap afforded by the trap element, or through the valve bypassing the condensate trap, or to shut off the condensate line 10. The positioner rotates the valve element 36 under the control of control means 54 which responds to signals from a sensor 24 detecting the presence or absence of condensate in a monitoring chamber 16 and the temperature within the chamber 16. The control means 54 is also responsive to the temperature sensed by a temperature sensor 22 upstream of a process 2 utilizing steam or other fluid which is applied to the condensate trap assembly 12.

摘要: A thermostatic steam trap, which operates either as a blast trap or a liquid expansion trap, depending solely on reversal of inlet and outlet function, has a generally cylindrical housing containing an internal cavity. The housing has two parts, the first of which contains a passage leading to a valve seat and the second of which contains a passage leading, via a plurality of bores, to the cavity. Within the cavity is a bellows, filled with a volatile liquid, having a valve on its top which mates with the valve seat and connected at its bottom to the second housing part. The connection is pivotal to permit self-centering of the valve. Either passage can serve as an inlet depending on which operating modality is desired.

摘要: A freeze preventing valve which comprises a valve cage body longitudinally provided with a cylindrical guide at the upper part thereof in a valve housing connected to a steam feed pipe, a valve element having a shaft disposed through the guide of the valve body to be able to open an exhaust port opened at the lower end of the housing and to be elevationally guided in the guide of the housing, a spring of shape memory alloy interposed between the lower surface of the valve body and the valve element for urging the valve element to close the valve element, a bias spring mounted between the upper surface of the valve body and the shaft protruding from the guide of the valve element upwardly for urging the valve element to open the valve element. Thus, the valve element of the freeze preventing valve is effectively supported and guided in the housing via the guide of the valve body. Since the both springs are effectively mounted through the valve body, the exhaust port can be automatically opened and closed with the spring of shape memory alloy and the bias spring instead of the conventional bellows.
