    摘要: A sidelobe blanking system is provided which uses as much of the existing radar tracking system as possible while requiring a minimal number of additional components. The sidelobe blanking system includes a guard antenna and two phase shifters the first of which is operably coupled to the main radar antenna's sum pattern. The phase shifters create signals of opposite polarities which represent the complex conjugate of the sum pattern from the main radar antenna. The system includes two summing circuits which add the signal received by the guard antenna to the complex conjugate signals of opposite polarity. The system also includes a phase detector which compares the outputs of the first and second summing circuits and generates a signal representative of the cosine of the relative phase angle. The polarity of the output of the phase detector is determinative of whether or not the target being detected is in the sidelobe region or the mainlobe region and is independent of any phase error between the main and guard antennas.

The angle servo preamplifier processes tracking error signals indicative of tracking antenna pointing errors with respect to a target. The preamplifier is comprised of an input differential amplifier stage, a phase control stage, a sample and hold stage and a power amplifier stage. In addition, interfacing circuitry is included for coupling the preamplifier to the azimuth/secant correction system of the tracking radar system. The sample and hold stage includes "deglitching" circuitry for suppressing sampling/switching transients. And, to accommodate a bipolar tracking error signal while utilizing a single voltage supply, the power amplifier stage performs d.c. level translation.

    摘要: A multiple target indicator and discriminator is provided for use on a tracking radar of the sequential lobe type. Multiple targets occurring within one radar beam-width cause the radar return signal to have a phase modulated component at the scan rate frequency and also an additional second harmonic, amplitude modulated component at twice the scan rate frequency. These modulated components are detected and removed from the radar return signal and used to provide a multiple target indicating signal. These modulated components are also used to produce an angle bias signal which, when added to an angle error signal in the radar angle track loop, causes the radar to track only one target in a formation of targets. Since the angle bias signal is developed directly from either the phase modulated component or the amplitude modulated component of the return signal produced by the multiple targets, such bias signal is responsive to any change in target reflectivity and thereby provides an adaptive angle bias signal.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for target ray resolution in coherent, conically scanned radar when a target image is present. An envelope detector and frequency discriminator operate on the IF signal. The fundamental and second harmonic components of the conical scan out of the discriminator are used in a computer along with the DC, fundamental, and second harmonic of the envelope out of the detector to solve five equations in five unknowns. That yields the elevation angles to the target and its image. The larger of the two angles is selected as the elevation angle to the target. The first harmonic and the DC component of the envelope are employed to produce an estimate of the target azimuth angle.

    摘要: A Guarded Monopulse Radar System is disclosed for generating azimuth and elevation difference (or error) signals proportional to the angular displacement of the detected radar target from the antenna boresight axis and for generating a sum signal indicative of the target range. The azimuth and elevation difference signals are modulated in quadrature with sine and cosine signals of a reference frequency. The modulated signals are then added to a portion of the sum signal to provide a composite signal. The aforementioned steps are performed at microwave frequencies and the resultant signals are subsequently converted to IF signals by ''''beating'''' with a signal derived from a local oscillator. IF signals corresponding to the sum signal and the composite signal are amplified in a circuitry including fast, automatic gain control (AGC). The amplified signals are then demodulated in accordance with the reference signal to provide signals indicative of azimuth and elevation errors.
