    Abstract: A camshaft phaser includes a stator having a plurality of lobes and a rotor coaxially disposed within the stator and having a plurality of vanes interspersed with the lobes defining a plurality of alternating advance chambers and retard chambers such that a phasing valve supplies and vents oil to and from the advance and retard chambers. A first check valve allows oil to flow from only one of the retard chambers to only one of the advance chambers when a first diverter valve permits communication between the one of the advance chambers and the first check valve and a second check valve allows oil to flow from the one of the advance chambers to the one of the retard chambers when a second diverter valve permits communication between the one of the retard chambers and the second check valve.

    Abstract: An illustrative example embodiment of a method is for controlling a switch. The switch is used to charge a capacitor that provides an output voltage. The switch has an inductor on an input side between a power source and the switch. The method includes: initiating a switching cycle including turning on the switch, sensing a voltage representing current through the inductor, using a reference voltage as a basis for turning off the switch during the switching cycle when the sensed voltage exceeds the reference voltage, and setting an initial value of the reference voltage at a beginning of the switching cycle based on at least one feature of an activation of the switch during at least one previous switching cycle.

    Abstract: An intent-indication system includes an intersection-detector, a vehicle-detector, and a controller. The intersection-detector is suitable for use on a host-vehicle. The intersection-detector is used to determine that the host-vehicle is stopped at an intersection. The vehicle-detector is also suitable for use on the host-vehicle. The vehicle-detector is used to detect a presence of an other-vehicle proximate to the intersection. The controller is in communication with the intersection-detector and the vehicle-detector. The controller is configured to operate host-headlights of the host-vehicle to provide an indication of intent of the host-vehicle to the other-vehicle when the host-vehicle and the other-vehicle have been stopped at the intersection for more than a time-threshold.

    Abstract: A controller configured to detect fault conditions in a circuit that operates an electrical-load includes a gate-driver and a voltage-detector. The gate-driver is configured to control a gate-current to a switching-device. The gate-current is controlled such that the switching-device is operated in a linear-state when the switching-device transitions from an on-state to an off-state. The voltage-detector is configured to determine a voltage-drop across the switching-device. The controller is configured to indicate a no-fault condition when the voltage-drop is greater than a voltage-threshold for more time than a no-fault interval after the switching device is operated from the on-state to the linear-state.

    Abstract: An electrical connector system including a connector having a terminal cavity within. The cavity has a rigid floor with a lock nib extending into the cavity, a first flexible beam extending into a rearward portion of the cavity and a second flexible beam extending into a forward portion. The first and second beams both overlie the floor. The system further includes a terminal having a top surface and a bottom surface defining a rigid lock edge. The terminal is received in the cavity such that the first beam engages a rearward portion of the top surface of the terminal and the second beam engages a forward portion of the top surface, thereby biasing the terminal towards the floor. The lock edge engages the lock nib, thereby preventing the terminal from being inadvertently withdrawn from the terminal receiving cavity. The connector may be formed by an additive manufacturing process.
