Abstract: To extend a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) in wireless communications, an extended physical broadcast channel (EPBCH) transmission is generated with one or more legacy PBCH blocks and one or more EPBCH blocks within an extension window. A size of the extension window is determined based at least in part on a PBCH repetition number and a number of the legacy PBCH blocks relative to a number of the EPBCH blocks. The EPBCH transmission is transmitted by a base station (BS) to one or more user equipment (UE).

Abstract: Systems, methods, and circuitries are provided for performing sidelink communication. An example method indicates a frequency resource reservation in sidelink control information (SCI). The method includes identifying a transport block (TB) for transmission to a UE; determining a total number of sub-channels (NSL) in a resource pool for sidelink communication, a number of sub-channels (Lsub) of the TB, a first starting sub-channel index x1 of a first retransmission of the TB, and a second starting sub-channel index x2 of a second retransmission of the TB. The method includes determining a frequency resource indication value (FRIV) based on NSL, LSUB, x1, and x2, wherein the FRIV represents a result of a predetermined function of Lsub, x1, and x2 that generates a unique value for possible combinations of Lsub, x1, and x2. The FRIV is encoded in SCI and the SCI is transmitted to the UE.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for determining timing advance in L1/L2 inter-cell mobility. A user equipment (UE) comprises at least one antenna, at least one radio coupled to the at least one antenna, and a processor coupled to the at least one radio. The processor is configured to receive a Time advance (TA) indicator together with a handover command from a source base station in a source coverage, wherein the TA indicator comprises information for determining a TA used for an uplink transmission with a target base station in a target coverage, the handover command is a Layer 1 handover command or a Layer 2 handover command, and the source coverage and the target coverage are identified by different Physical Cell identifiers; and in response to the handover command, determine the TA used for the uplink transmission with the target base station based on the information.

Abstract: Measurement resources are often limited in 5G and 4G-LTE communications. As a result, SMTC and CSI-RS measurement windows will occasionally be assigned to the same resource elements of a signal frame. This results in a collision that must be resolved, since both measurements cannot be performed simultaneously. The collision can be resolved using restriction, where overlapping resource elements are assigned to either the SMTC or the CSI-RS measurements, or can be resolved using measurement sharing, where overlapping resource elements are divided among the two measurements according to a measurement sharing factor. Various factors, including priority or window periodicity may be taken into account by the measurement rules that dictate collision resolution.
