Abstract: An example method includes, during execution of a software application in a computing system comprising a plurality of processing units, identifying platform-independent instructions that are configured to perform at least one computational task, wherein the plurality of processing units comprises a heterogeneous group, and wherein the platform-independent instructions have a format that is not specific to any particular processing unit in the plurality of processing units, determining one or more scheduling criteria that are associated with the platform-independent instructions, and selecting, from the heterogeneous group of processing units and based on the scheduling criteria, a processing unit to perform the at least one computational task. The example method further includes converting the platform-independent instructions into platform-dependent instructions, wherein the platform-dependent instructions have a format that is specific to the selected processing unit, and executing, by the selected processing unit, the platform-dependent instructions to perform the at least one computational task.

Abstract: A mobile emergency perimeter system includes one or more fixed radio frequency (RF) sensors, and one or more moving RF sensors; a wireless mesh network coupling together each of the sensors; and a central processor system coupled to the wireless mesh network. The central processor system executes machine instructions stored on a computer-readable storage medium to control each of the RF sensors to receive time of arrival data for a RF signal transmitted by an emitter and received at each of the RF sensors, receive location information for each of the RF sensors and determine a three-dimensional (3-D) estimate of the geographical location of the emitter.

Abstract: An advisor system includes a computer-readable storage medium having encoded thereon a program of instructions. Execution of the instructions causes a processor to determine a current state of a first aircraft operating on a movement area of an airport including determining a path vector for the first aircraft. The path vector includes a speed and direction of travel of the first aircraft and identification of a runway intersection the first aircraft is projected to enter. The processor processes a surveillance signal transmitted from a second aircraft operating on the movement area, including determining a quality of the surveillance signal. The processor further determines a movement vector of the second aircraft, and compares the path vector and the movement vector to identify possible interference. Finally, the processor provides an advisory at the first aircraft based on the compared path vector and the movement vector.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to monitoring a crypto-partitioned, or cipher-text, wide-area network (WAN). A first computing device may be situated in a plain-text portion of a first enclave behind a first inline network encryptor (INE). A second device may be positioned in a plain-text portion of a second enclave behind a second INE. The two enclaves may be separated by a cipher-text WAN, over which the two enclaved may communicate. The first computing device may receive a data packet from the second computing device. The first computing device may then determine contents of a header of the data packet. The first computing device may, based at least in part on the contents of the header of the data packet, determine a status of the cipher-text WAN.

Abstract: A server system receives messages from client computing devices. Each of the messages corresponds to a transaction. The server system assigns each respective transaction to a respective fresh virtual machine. Furthermore, the server system performs, as part of a respective virtual machine processing a respective transaction, a modification associated with the respective transaction to a shared database. The shared database is persisted independently of the plurality of virtual machines. In response to determining that processing of the respective transaction is complete, the server system discards the respective virtual machine. In response to a trigger, such as determining that the respective transaction is associated with a cyber-attack, the server system uses checkpoint data associated with the respective transaction to roll back the modifications associated with the respective transaction to the shared database.
