    Abstract: An example method includes, during execution of a software application in a computing system comprising a plurality of processing units, identifying platform-independent instructions that are configured to perform at least one computational task, wherein the plurality of processing units comprises a heterogeneous group, and wherein the platform-independent instructions have a format that is not specific to any particular processing unit in the plurality of processing units, determining one or more scheduling criteria that are associated with the platform-independent instructions, and selecting, from the heterogeneous group of processing units and based on the scheduling criteria, a processing unit to perform the at least one computational task. The example method further includes converting the platform-independent instructions into platform-dependent instructions, wherein the platform-dependent instructions have a format that is specific to the selected processing unit, and executing, by the selected processing unit, the platform-dependent instructions to perform the at least one computational task.

    Abstract: A method, executed by a processor, includes the processor receiving signals information from a device located on a departing airplane; verifying an identification of the airplane and identifying an expected departure sequence of aircraft surface states; monitoring and identifying additional signals information received from the mobile device, including comparing the additional signals information to known data; logging the additional signals information, and processing the additional signals information, and determining the logged data corresponds to events indicative of an aircraft surface state; sending an aircraft surface state reached message to Local and Center flight management; and executing a statistical routine and providing statistical data from the execution relating to an occurrence of upcoming aircraft surface state event and sending the statistical data with the aircraft surface state message.

    Abstract: An advisor system includes a computer-readable storage medium having encoded thereon a program of instructions. Execution of the instructions causes a processor to determine a current state of a first aircraft operating on a movement area of an airport including determining a path vector for the first aircraft. The path vector includes a speed and direction of travel of the first aircraft and identification of a runway intersection the first aircraft is projected to enter. The processor processes a surveillance signal transmitted from a second aircraft operating on the movement area, including determining a quality of the surveillance signal. The processor further determines a movement vector of the second aircraft, and compares the path vector and the movement vector to identify possible interference. Finally, the processor provides an advisory at the first aircraft based on the compared path vector and the movement vector.

    Abstract: Systems, devices, methods, and techniques are described for automated air traffic management using multiple flight operation modes. In one example, a method includes receiving, by a computing device comprising one or more processors, data associated with one or more aircraft in flight in a controlled airspace. The method further includes selecting, by the computing device, based at least in part on the data associated with the one or more aircraft, a respective flight operation mode from among a plurality of flight operation modes for at least one respective aircraft among the one or more aircraft in flight. The method further includes outputting, by the computing device for transmission to the at least one respective aircraft, an indication of the respective flight operation mode selected for the at least one respective aircraft.
