    Abstract: Switching schemes at a mobile device may include, in response to being within range of a transmission and reception point (TRP) of a plurality of TRPs associated with a high speed train (HST), decoding a communication received from a network. The communication may include a first radio resource control (RRC) information element (IE) having an HST configuration associated with an HST scheme. The HST configuration may be applied to thereby operate using the HST scheme. In response to being out of range of the plurality of TRPs associated with the HST, a communication received from the network may be decoded. The communication may include a second RRC IE having a non-HST configuration associated with a non-HST scheme. The non-HST configuration may be applied to thereby operate using the non-HST scheme.

    Abstract: A UE for a 5G system is to perform a measurement during a network controlled small gap (NCSG). The NCSCI includes a first visible interruption length (VIL1), a measurement length (ML), a second visible interruption length (VIL2), and a visible interruption repetition period (VIRP). A UE capability indicates a length of one or both the VIL1 and the VIL2. NCSG pattern information provides the NCSG for the UE, in which the VIL1 and the VIL2 indicate when the UE is not expected to transmit and receive data on a serving carrier, the ML indicates when the UE is expected to transmit and receive data on the serving carrier, and the VIRP indicates a period in which to repeat the NCSG.

    Abstract: In an example method, a user equipment (UE) device receives, from one or more base stations (BSes), Downlink Control Information (DCI) including scheduling information for receiving a plurality of Physical Downlink Shared Channels (PDSCHs) from the BSes. The UE device determines a pre-determined time subsequent to a reception of a sequentially last symbol of the DCI, and determines (i) a first subset of the PDSCHs scheduled for reception prior the pre-determined time, and (ii) a second subset of the PDSCHs scheduled for reception subsequent to the pre-determined time. The UE device determines one or more Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states that indicate a quasi co-location (QCL) for a plurality of antenna ports of the one or more PDSCHs that are transmitted by the BSes. Further, the UE device processes the first subset of the PDSCHs and the second subset of the PDSCHs according to the determined TCI states.

    Abstract: Devices for and methods of synchronous beam refinement using a beam refinement reference signal (BRRS) are generally described. In one example embodiment, a UE receives BRRS information indicating switching of a Tx beam. The UE then uses this information to switch an associated Rx beam. In some embodiments, timing information is used to match the switching times. In some embodiments, DCI and CSI-RS operations are used to determine switching for the synchronous beam refinement.
