Abstract:
A system and method of tracking and reselling inventoried items is disclosed. This method includes assigning an audit code to an incoming inventoried item, wherein the audit code comprises a manual audit code and an automated audit code; auditing the incoming inventoried item to assess the incoming inventory item as such for one or more of, for example, the destruction, demanufacture, resale, recondition, storage, and redeployment; sending the incoming inventoried item to one of a redeployment, a demanufacture, a recondition, a resale, a storage, and a destruction in accordance with the auditing; manually updating the manual audit code in accordance with the auditing and the sending; providing, after the sending and the manually updating, redeployment or resale of at least a portion of the incoming inventoried item audited as suitable for at least one of demanufacture, resale, recondition, and redeployment; and, finally updating the manual audit code based upon the information provided to the system.
Abstract:
Delivery of content such as advertisements to audience members. Profile data is collected regarding audience members to whom advertisements may be delivered, such that a given audience member has an established profile data. Upon receiving a request to serve an advertisement to an audience member, a recognition that the target of the request is the given audience member is made. Then it is determined that a particular advertisement should be served to the given audience member. The determination includes recognition of the given audience member and corresponding selection advertisements optimized for the recognized audience member. A configurable delivery decision making mode allows pre-optimized as well as delivery time factoring for determining advertisements. Performance criteria and revenue allocation based upon data provider participation are also provided.
Abstract:
A software implemented code is operational in a system for permitting a user to access broadcast media in data communication with a broadcast receiving device. The code comprises encoded information that is sufficient to uniquely identify the media being broadcast and comprises information regarding the permitted uses of the broadcast media. The code is configured to be broadcast with the media and to travel with the broadcast media, or alternatively is configured to be distributed to the user independent of the media. The code is also capable of being selectively stored into a storage medium associated with said broadcast receiving device, and is configured to selectively permit access by the user to the broadcast media. Alternatively, the code is capable of being transmitted to a station in response to an input from the user selecting said media, and is configured to instruct the station to selectively permit access by the user to the media depending upon the user input.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and system of delivering an object relating to a broadcast media stream to a user terminal (110) of a radio system (206). A broadcast system (2000) broadcasts the media stream, associates the object to the media stream and delivers an object identification of the object to at least one user terminal (110) either through the radio system or as an RDS broadcast. The user terminal (110) presents the object identification in synchronization with the media stream in the user terminal and sends, if a user requests the delivery of the object based on the object identification, a transaction signal with the object identification to a database (208) having at least one object through the radio system (206). The database (208) delivers the object of the object identification to the user terminal (110), which sent the request signal, through the radio system (206).
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method are generally related to an alert mechanism. The alert mechanism is activated by the detection of one or more triggers, where the triggers can be categorized as time based and event based. Time-based triggers include timer based functions and scheduler based functions, while event-based triggers include internal alert functions and message based alert functions. Alerts are processed based on a priority scheme. Alerts take over the display area until dismissed by activation of one or more selectors by the user. Indicators may be included in a display screens to keep the user informed of ongoing changes in the alert status.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided for permitting a mobile device to connect to a broadcast station web site and to receive a broadcast station broadcast in response to selection of a bookmark. Selection of the bookmark results in a tuner on the mobile device being tuned to receive a broadcast while the mobile device substantially simultaneously connects to a web site for the broadcast station. The bookmark may be programmed by the user and may represent different broadcast stations according to parameters. Bookmarks may be displayed to the user based on geographical location information. Bookmarks may be created by scanning for available broadcasts at a geographical location. RDS information may supplement broadcast information and may be sent to the mobile device via CBS messages.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is to provide an information provision system that can efficiently provide individual information to each terminal. The invention is an information provision system that provides a content destined for a terminal, the content created by a content provider, wherein the information provision system includes a broadcast station for data-broadcasting a content and a content sending coordinator for requesting broadcast of a content created by the content provider from the broadcast station, acquiring from the broadcast station the information necessary for receiving the content, and presenting the information to a terminal via a communication circuit. The system transmits a content to a terminal via a broadcast system and transmits information necessary for receiving the content via a broadcast system to a terminal via a communications system, thereby allowing efficient provision of information.
Abstract:
Streamed content is specifically directed to a target or listening device having a unique registered identifier associated with a stored profile. This unique stored connection profile, combined with the streaming process, sends a customized stream based on the stored profile information and, depending on the triggers within the stream designed to localize or regionalize the stream content, enables interaction with the listening device to deliver individualized stream elements, regional or group stream elements, and general (global) stream elements and/or other content conformed based on the stored profile information.
Abstract:
The invention relates generally to a digital broadcast system and receivers therein which are configured to allow the use of a reverse channel for transmitting responses to broadcast messages. The digital broadcast system is configured to receive requests for information from a mobile platform device (e.g., a GPS receiver) and broadcast information request messages. The receivers are configured to receive a broadcast information request message and communicate with a telematics-enabled device in a mobile platform such as a cellular telephone to initiate a transmission of a response message therefrom.
Abstract:
A receiver is provided for an information system that provides selected information to individual users. A high speed digital program signal is broadcast and contains program data that begins at a reference time and is repeated at set intervals. An index signal that contains the receiver's identifier associated with the reference time and interval information is also broadcast. The receiver monitors the index signal for its identifier. When the receiver detects its identifier, the receiver downloads the time and tuning information. The receiver then uses the time and tuning information to receive, download, and store the user's selected program. In some embodiments a transceiver replaces the receiver to allow the user to make remote program requests.
