Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for determining a transport block size (TBS) as a function of various parameters without cyclic dependencies between the parameters and TBS. The disclosed function can determine a TBS in a single pass, and the determined TBS allows the use of code blocks with equal code block size (CBS) in a transport block segmentation process. The determined TBS can provide byte-aligned code block lengths and require no padding bits in a transport block.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for a channel reservation signal that may be transmitted upon gaining contention-based access to a channel in a shared radio frequency spectrum. The channel reservation signal may include a channel reservation preamble and a channel reservation payload. The channel reservation payload may be formatted with other control channel information transmitted by the transmitter, such as downlink control information (DCI), and aligned with a transmission boundary of the other control channel information. When deployed on a shared medium, a downlink control channel may carry an extra trigger field that may schedule a receiving UE to transmit its own channel reservation signal within an uplink transmission burst.

Abstract: A control channel transmission may include information for downlink transmissions, and another control channel, such as a physical micro sleep indicator channel (PMSICH), may include information for uplink transmissions that a user equipment (UE) may use to enter a power-saving micro sleep state. A base station may drop PMSICH transmissions in the event that downlink resources are constrained. A UE that receives a PMSICH transmission may determine an uplink transmission duration, and enter a micro sleep state for all or a portion of the uplink transmission duration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A number of blind decodings of a search space set for control information are defined. A search space of the search space set includes a subset of blind decodings. A reduction factor is determined. The reduction factor is applied to the subset of blind decodings to obtain a reduced subset of blind decodings for the search space. A reduced number of blind decodings of the search space set is identified based at least in part on the reduced subset of blind decodings for the search space. The control information is transmitted in a decoding candidate of the reduced number of blind decodings of the search space.

A second method includes receiving downlink control information for a first UE, the downlink control information for the first UE including an indication of at least a second UE; receiving downlink control information for the second UE based at least in part on the indication of at least the second UE; and receiving a set of NOMA downlink transmissions at the first UE based at least in part on the downlink control information for the first UE and the downlink control information for the second UE.

Wireless communications systems as described herein may be configured to support several service types with different latency, reliability, or throughput rates or standards. One such service type may be referred to as ultra-reliable, low-latency communications (URLLC). Enhancements to improve URLLC performance in coexistence with and as a complement to legacy service types, such as LTE are described. These include, for example, enhanced timing resource allocations, enhanced transmission repetition schemes, enhanced feedback mechanisms, or a combination of these features to achieve certain reliability and latency targets.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for using a common physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to indicate transmission beams to be used by a base station during a transmission opportunity or a periodicity to monitor search spaces are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor a search space (in some cases, using a periodicity) for the common PDCCH to determine if transmission beams associated with the UE are to be used during the transmission opportunity. If so, the UE may wake-up during at least a portion of the transmission opportunity to receive additional information. If the common PDCCH indicates that no transmission beams associated with the UE are to be used during the transmission opportunity, the UE may enter or re-enter the sleep state. The UE may switch to a new periodicity for monitoring the search space based on the information transmitted within the common PDCCH.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a resource allocation associated with a low latency time interval (TTI). The low latency TTI may be a two-symbol TTI. The UE may transmit, responsive to the resource allocation, a two-symbol TTI that includes a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) symbol and a data symbol. In some cases, the two-symbol TTI may precede the transmission of another two-symbol TTI from the same UE that includes data and excludes DM-RS. In some cases, the two-symbol TTI includes DM-RS from another UE. In such cases, data from the other UE may be transmitted in a subsequent two-symbol TTI.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) on a component carrier (CC) that is otherwise configured for downlink communications. Due to a carrier aggregation configuration or UE capability, the UE may need to retune certain components to transmit on the CC. If the SRS transmission, including the retuning time, collides with another transmission (e.g., in uplink or downlink) the UE may drop the SRS, drop the other transmission, or puncture the other transmission to facilitate the SRS transmission. The determination about a collision may depend on the retuning time, channel, or type of control information in the other transmission. In some cases, a UE may drop the other transmission if transmitting the SRS would prevent the UE from transmitting a demodulation reference signal, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. In some cases, the determination may be based upon a prioritization and may also depend on a subsequent subframe.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to event triggers for independent links. For example, an event trigger may be based on measurements from multiple links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, an event trigger may be based on aggregated measurements from multiple links.
