Abstract:
A computer system and a method for setting basic input/output system (BIOS) are disclosed. The computer system comprises a remote computer and servers. The remote computer transmits a setting command. Each of the servers comprises a first management unit and a motherboard. The motherboard comprises a storage device and a processor. The storage device stores the BIOS. The processor executes the BIOS. The processor communicates with the first management unit to determine whether the BIOS configuration needs to be updated after the server rebooted. The processor updates the BIOS according to the setting command when the BIOS configuration must to be updated.
Abstract:
A portable computer includes a computer body and a keyboard. The keyboard includes a plurality of keys and a space bar. The space bar includes a base frame, a touch pad, an elastic element and a key switch. The touch pad is elevatably disposed on the base frame, and one surface of the touch pad can provide a cursor of the portable computer. The elastic element is disposed between the base frame and the touch pad, and elastically supports the touch pad. The key switch is disposed on the other surface of the touch pad. When one of the keys is clicked, the computer body disables the touch pad and enables the key switch.
Abstract:
An outer-hanging touch apparatus is hanged on a display apparatus. The display apparatus has a front surface, a top surface, and a rear surface. The outer-hanging touch apparatus includes a touch module and a hanging assembly. The hanging assembly includes a hanging member, an adjusting member, and a driving member. The hanging member is fixed to the touch module and extends to the rear surface. The hanging member includes a guiding structure. The adjusting member is slidably engaged with the guiding structure. The adjusting member abuts against a junction between the top and rear surfaces. The driving member is engaged with the hanging member and the adjusting member for moving the adjusting member relative to the hanging member. When the adjusting member moves toward or away from the touch module along the guiding structure, the hanging member correspondingly moves away from or toward the top surface.
Abstract:
An electronic eyeglass is disclosed. The electronic eyeglass includes a polarizing beam splitter (PBS) and an eyeglass frame. The eyeglass frame carries the PBS.
Abstract:
An electrical device having thermal isolation function includes a housing, a heat-generating source, a heat-conductive member, and a thermal isolation plate. The housing includes an accommodation space therein, an inner surface and an outer surface which is opposite to the inner surface. The heat-generating source is disposed in the accommodation space. The heat-conductive member is disposed in the accommodation space, and is in contact with the heat-generating source. The thermal isolation plate is disposed between the heat-conductive member and the inner surface of the housing, and the thermal isolation plate is formed with a vacuum camber therein.
Abstract:
Each of a plurality of Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) performance profiles can be determined upon a corresponding performance goal. A particular performance profile can be selected from the plurality of BIOS performance profiles. A BIOS configuration can be determined for a computer system automatically based at least in part on the particular performance profile or a hardware configuration of the computer system. The computer system can be initialized with the BIOS configuration.
Abstract:
A video conferencing system is provided. The video conferencing system includes: a first communication device, configured to receive a video signal from a host, and convert the video signal into a first video stream; and a second communication device, configured to receive a second video stream of a scene captured by an image capturing unit, and receive the first video stream from the first communication device by using a wireless communication protocol, wherein the second communication device selects one of the first video stream and the second video stream according to a switching signal, and transmits the selected video stream to an electronic system, wherein when receiving the switching signal, the second communication device stops transmitting the selected video stream to the electronic system for a predetermined time period, and transmits header information of another video stream to the electronic system, thereby resetting decoding settings of the system.
Abstract:
A robotic vehicle, a datacenter, and a method for maintaining the datacenter are disclosed. The robotic vehicle comprises a moving apparatus, a robotic arm, a network module, and a processor. The network module receives a network packet. The processor generates the rack location and the component location according to the network packet. The processor controls the moving apparatus to move to the rack location and controls the robotic arm to move to the component location to replace a failed server component.
Abstract:
A rechargeable battery module includes a battery cell, a load detector, a temperature sensor, a power consumption classifier and a battery charging controller. The power consumption classifier classifies a power consumption of the battery cell based on the load detected by the load detector and the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor. The battery charging controller collects a series of classified results output from the power consumption classifier to control a charging rate of the battery cell accordingly.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising at least one extendable hard drive drawer for replacement and maintenance of at least one hard drive. The apparatus comprises a chassis comprising a front side and a rear side, and a first hard drive carrier and a second hard drive carrier housed within the chassis. The first hard drive carrier can be housed at the front side of the chassis, and the second hard drive carrier can be located behind the first hard drive carrier. The first hard drive carrier and the second hard drive carrier can each be adapted to house at least one hard drive. The first hard drive carrier can be adapted to slide from a closed position to a first open position, and from the first open position to a second open position, such that the second hard drive carrier can be accessed in the second open position.
