摘要: A method for producing metal alloys. The method allows the production of metal alloys consisting of at least two metals having a high melting point difference. Here, the higher melting metal is melted first and the lower melting metal is melted with a delay by means of heat transfer whereupon the metals mix together. This enables to obtain metal alloys with high purity and low evaporation losses, which in particular allow the use of contaminated starting components such as recycled metal.

摘要: Metal is melted in an induction-heated crucible (13) on which a mold (10) with a downward-facing filling opening (26) is located in the melting position. After melting the metal, the crucible (13) and the mold (10) are jointly rotated about a horizontal axis (A--A) into a tilting position in which the molten material flows from the crucible (13) into the mold (10). In order to melt reactive metals, melting is done in a crucible (13) that is surrounded by a vacuum, this crucible being surrounded by an induction coil (15) outside of the vacuum. The mold (10) is located in a vacuum-sealed casting chamber (6) which is evacuated together with the crucible (13) prior to melting and casting is carried out by a joint tilting of the crucible (13), casting chamber (6) and mold (10) by at least 180 degrees while the vacuum is maintained.

摘要: In a process for cleaning oil-wetted structural parts, a vacuum furnace (1) is first evacuated to a defined first pressure to eliminate residual air. Then an inert gas is introduced until a second, subatmospheric pressure is reached, which is above the first pressure, and the inert gas is circulated inside the vacuum furnace. To reduce the heat-up times and to conserve energy and inert gas: (a) the second pressure is above the vapor pressure curve of the wetting oil and is reached by flooding the vacuum furnace (1); (b) the inert gas feed and the evacuation are interrupted after the flooding, and the inert gas and the oil vapors are circulated exclusively in the interior of the vacuum furnace (1); and (c) upon completion of the heat-up period, a connection is established from the vacuum furnace (1) to a condenser (11) and to a vacuum pump (12); the pressure is lowered to a value below the vapor pressure curve; and the oils thus evaporated are withdrawn and condensed.

摘要: Vertical, parallel palisades (3) are distributed around the perimeter of a circle, spaced apart by gaps, surrounding the melt. An annular plate (4) supports the palisades (3), the palisades being provided with cavities through which a coolant flows. An induction coil (20) surrounds the palisades (3) on the outside, an alternating current flowing through the coil. The plate (4) is provided with support surfaces (4a, 4b), equal in number to the number of palisades (3), their shape conforming to the base surfaces of the palisades (3). Seen in the circumferential direction, every second support surface (4a) is covered by an electrically insulating film (7). All of the palisades (3) together are surrounded by a ring (18) of electrically insulating material, which holds the palisades (3) on the plate (4).

摘要: Workpieces are quenched by gases in a heat-treatment system (1) and the circulated gases are recooled on cooling surfaces (12, 15) in at least one heat exchanger (11, 14), the cooling surfaces (15) of the heat exchanger (14) are cooled by a primary refrigeration unit (20) and a refrigerant to temperatures below 0.degree. C., preferably to temperatures below -20.degree. C. or even below -40.degree. C., to increase the intensity of the quenching. To reduce the size and power of the refrigeration unit (20), the quenching gas is sent in succession through at least one heat exchanger (11) cooled with water and at least one heat exchanger (14) cooled by a refrigerant. To reduce the size and power of the refrigeration unit (20) even further, this unit and a secondary refrigerant are used initially to cool down a storage volume of the primary refrigerant, such as a cooling brine, being stored under little or no pressure, to a temperature below 0.degree. C., whereupon this primary refrigerant is sent through the heat exchanger (14), at least one of which is present.

摘要: In the production of castings from a melt of a reactive metal selected from the group consisting of titanium, titanium alloys, and titanium-based alloys, a reusable casting mold (20) is used; the mold, at least in the area of the surface which comes in contact with the melt, consists of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of tantalum, niobium, zirconium, and/or their alloys. The casting mold (20) preferably consists, at least in the area of the surface which comes in contact with the melt, of a tantalum based alloy containing at least 50 wt. % of tantalum. The casting molds can be made of a homogeneous metal, but it is also possible to insert shells of the metals in question into a base body to form the boundaries of the mold cavities, whereas the base body itself consists of some other metal or alloy or of a nonmetal such as graphite or silicon nitride. Insofar as the casting molds in question are molds for centrifugal casting, it is preferable to use titanium, a titanium alloy, or titanium aluminide as the nonmetal for the base body.

摘要: A device for separating interconnected transport boats that are movable in a first plane in an intended direction of motion includes a substantially oval, non-circular separation disk aligned parallel to the first plane and connected to a rotary drive and a lifting device via a drive shaft. The separation disk is movable by means of the lifting device in the direction of the transport boats to be separated in order to engage with a corresponding total recess in the transport boats to be separated. In addition, the separation disk is rotatably movable in, and/or parallel to, the first plane by means of the rotary drive in order to separate the transport boats to be separated from each other by rotating the separation disk.

摘要: The invention relates to a remelting plant comprising a furnace chamber (50), which can be positioned over a crucible (60) of a melting station, an electrode rod (48), which by way of a lead-through (52) can be inserted or is inserted in the furnace chamber (50), in order to contact a consumable electrode (58), and a guide column (30), on which an electrode rod carriage (40) that is fixed-ly connected to the electrode rod (48) is guided in an axially movable manner, in order to move the electrode rod (48) in relation to the furnace chamber (50), and on which a chamber carriage (38), which is connected or can be connected to the furnace chamber (50), is guided in an axially movable manner, in order to move the furnace chamber (50). The guide column (30) is articulatedly connected at a first end to a rotary column (18) such that the guide column (30) can be inclined in re-lation to the rotary column (18) and can be rotated together with the rotary column (18) about the axis of rotation (24) of the rotary column (18). The guide column (30) has in the region of the first end a weighing device (36), which is preferably attached to the rotary column (18).
